carbonfiber lips installation went bad.. sigh..

So the other weekend, I finally received my carbon fiber lips painted to match the car.. everything went well.. and then guess what? it was time to peel the tape.. the damn tape took part of the paint off.. i guess i didn't give it enough time to sit.. anyway.. i had to take it off and the black sticker that came with it.. now i just got the lips fix again, but realized i dont have that black tape.. sigh.. this sucks..!!

Yeah the double-sided tape will work. You can find it at any harware store. I used it to attach my aero kit for my Maxima. Its almost been 7 years and still holding up.

try an automotive store. there you should be able to find automotive/industrial grade double sided tape made by 3m.

Should get the 3M exterior double-sided tape, the weather-proof one i believe. i sticked a ball of this tape on my neighbor's tire sidewalls and its been 3 days and its still on..so i know this tape is sticky enough. also my friend recently put on a lip for his car and this is the tape we used.

Right. Make sure it's the exterior mounting tape, not the double-sided indoors tape for drywalls.

How long would you wait to install the parts after they have been painted? A week, or even longer?

I'll be getting the CF splitters soon and want to get them painted as well and I'm thinking about putting them aside for a while to let the paint settle before installing them on the car.

why would you paint CF? doesn't that defeat the purpose of having them made out of CF?

It does, but those splitters are only available in CF right now, and imo they don't look too good on lighter colors... so I'll have them painted in arctic to match my car!
