Question Question regarding clearing ECU codes for water pump replacement

I just replaced water pump on my e90 and would like to know if I can drive it without clearing ECU codes for a few weeks till the coding cable arrives ?

(the procedure tells to clear any ECU codes, but I couldn't get my hands on a cable locally, hence the question.)
