cd jammed

Hi all

purchased my 335d touring nearly 3 months ago and been messed about by the garage I bought it from, after threatening trading standards they've suggested I take the car to them so they can repair it, problem is it's a 400 mile round trip so I've suggested it gets repaired locally to me, so they've asked me to get a quote.

Anybody had any experience with this sort of problem. CD has been jammed before I had the car so I don't know how it's happened.

Thanks

Getting the radio out is no big deal at all - there are plenty of threads on how to do that. However this may be a possibility: at the loss of your warranty/radio/etc... you may be able to open the radio up on your own. This is OBVIOUSLY a last ditch effort and only if you're comfortable with it, just trying to think of something to save you a 400 mile round trip or a bay fee from the local mechanic. Good luck either way.

If you have iDrive you can hold the 2 eject buttons and the volume button in for like 10 seconds and it will reset. The 2 slots eject the cd/dvd in the drives after resetting. See if that does anything.

You know, I just remembered my parents 7 series had this problem with the CD player. I think the dealer replaced it.
