Mazda 6 Skyactiv Diesel
So I saw these while watching a Rolex Sports Car Series race. I looked them up and I kinda liked what I saw. Sure it's not a 335d but it's a more economical diesel and it doesn't require the Urea Injection System.
What do you guys think? Note: I am not considering it as a replacement for the D. Just thinking of getting this as a secondary. So I'm not trying to compare the two. Just wanted your thoughts on it Last edited by gruppeM3; 03-19-2013 at 04:43 PM.. |

Here's a link so you guys see what I'm talking about. It is the Euro spec but it shouldn't be much different than the US spec. Last edited by gruppeM3; 03-20-2013 at 08:27 PM.. |

What's Mazda's track record (history) when it comes to diesels?
Here's a review of it that I saw weeks back: |

Funny review but I like it. I guess I will have to wait and see for myself when they are released. I love that they will be offering it in a manual too.

Yeah that's the plan for now. I called some dealers and they are trying to get me to preorder one which I will not do. I am not ready to commit to a car that hasn't even been released. Once I see it in the flesh I will make up my mind

If you're okay with having a quart of diesel fuel sitting in the oil pan, go for it!
http://www.rx8club.com/general-autom...p-here-241177/ I'd wait to see if the modified DPF regen software has stopped the excess fueling from leaking intothe oil pan. 2¢ Cheers D.

The car I should be driving is a Tesla! *edit* - I just checked the level now, when my engine is cold (haven't driven it since yesterday). The level is right at the "max" line. I know the correct procedure is to check it on a fully warm engine but would that actually make the level higher or lower? Seems to register higher when at operating temp, either that or I just can't get a good reading. Back to the Mazda - I think it's a pretty sweet looking car. If I was in the market for a lower-priced sedan, it would be at the top of my list. Impressive rev range for a diesel and more torque than any other 4-banger, except for maybe that new Mercedes E250.
