A hangover is dehydration and alcohol poisioning. Drink plenty of water through the night, and especially before bed. 64oz if you can. Also pop 4 Advil, and STAY AWAY FROM TYLENOL!

Tylenol is broken down by the liver, and is the #1 OTC drug in the the US for accidental overdose leading to death. People get hammered, liver works overtime, and the acetaminophen is hell on the liver. Liver shuts down, you die. My wife has treated dozens of people for this, mostly young people in their early to mid 20's.

*edit - my college hangover cure was 2 shots of lemon vodka in 32oz of lemonade gatorade - premixed and as cold as possible. Drink the morning after w/ 4 advil, and the world is great the next day.

Most important:

1. Try not to mix different types of alcohol
2. Don't drink 2 or more shots of hard liquor in a row
3. Before going to bed, mix 1 tea spoon of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in a glass of water and drink it all.

That should help UNLESS you drink TOO MUCH. In that case, a bad hangover is guaranteed no matter what you do. Trust me, I have many years of heavy-party drinking experience (which I regret, BTW).

In Russia, some mix it with vodka. The drink is called Polar Bear. It's a lot of fun, but the consequences could be pretty devastating ...

True champagne or American sparkling wine will make you want to cut your head off if consumed in large quantities.

drink a good amount of water during the day before the night out. stick to one type of alcohol whether it be clear or brown. some people do fine having a beer here and there, but imho beer will just make you go to the restroom a lot.
