Bilstein PSS10 vs. BMW Performance Suspension

Considering the Bilstein PSS10 or the BMW Performance Suspension. I'm ordering a set of MORR VS8.2 (19") with the staggered sizes. Any advice on which suspension to go with..considering rubbage, ride comfort and pricing? I'm completely stock right now (except for the ASA's the dealer threw in, so this will be my first actual mod.

i guess you have to ask yourself whether you want coils or stock-spring... are you just doing this to lower your car? do you plan on tracking? is money not a factor? how about warranty? etc etc..

I don't plan on tracking it at this point, so my purpose is more for just lowering it. Although, I still would like to improve the handling. I was reading a lot of mixed reviews on the BMW Perf Suspension, regarding ride height. Some experience the foretold drop and some do not, although most seem extremely happy with the handling still. With the PSS10, I know I will def get a good drop but I don't want to have to deal with my tires rubbing. I know that if I'm crammin' like five people in my car and have the ride height adjusted low, yeah...it'll rub. BMW lists their susp at around $1600 and the PSS10 is around the same from a couple of websites. Not sure how much I'm looking at for install though. And please let me know if the prices I've found don't check with stuff you've found. My basic warranty just ran out, so now I'm left with the extended warranty. If I put the PSS10 on, will it void my BMW warranty?

as stated in previous threads (very many threads), your warranty wont be voided unless it is found that the aftermarket part may have caused the stock part to wear sooner/or fail. but first, this would only void the suspension part of your car... and its not like they can blame any future engine problems on suspension issues. with that being said...

if your primary goal is to lower... i'd go with the coilovers so you can adjust the height. from what i've seen the perf suspension doesn't really lower your car that much in the front... there is still significant gap, which is fine for most people but not for all.

prices from what i've seen for pss10 its like 1800 if not 100-200 or so lower. from tischer, bmw perf suspension is like 1250?

if money wasn't an issue, i'd go with the coilovers if i was in your position... personally, i'm planning on going koni sports + bmw performance springs in the future because lowering the car isn't something i want.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Is adjusting the ride height fairly easy or is it something where I have to count threads and go back and forth from side to side making ridiculously minute adjustments?

from what i remember there's an indicator with #s on it for dampening and then there's the adjustable spring perches

you want bilstein... and if You have a look at Birds website (http://www.birdsauto.com/) they have a custom damping setup for the bilsteins which is probably the best solution for daily driving. I bet they would ship it anywhere you need. I would drop them a line, best BMW specialists Ive ever met
