Brake pads (HELP)
Hi guys,
I getting ready to change my front brake pads out and wanted to know what I need.. Do I need just the pads or do I need the sensors too? Also, do you guys recommend any pads? I want something close to oem that doesn't break the bank.. I think I'm gonna go with Centric Posi-Quiets.. Thanks, Chris |

You could get away with not buying a new sensor just be careful when removing the old one bc you can possible break it.

Go with some akebono euro ceramic pads is you want to eliminate brake dust! They are WAY cheaper than OEM and last longer too. Try tire rack they should have them in stock.

When I was doing research, I found that everyone was raving about the Cool Carbon pads.

get hawk hps pads, search for the reveiw in this forum. i have them and they are very close to oem in my opinion but hold on longer in heavy braking, with less dust. also you do not need a new sensor but do not try to reset the brake pad milage unless you get one.

which hawk pads? There are a few different models.
I've read about the akebono's, and most of the reviews say that while they dust less, they don't have as much bite as OEM pads, which is why I stayed away from them. the bmw OEM pads are great in that respect (aside from the dust) |

hawk hps (high performance street) there was a member who just did a lengthy review on these pads. hawk does make a number of different pads but the hps are the best for street use, from what ive read. check out tire rack thats where i got mine, as ive said before on here do not get centric or stop tech rotors, if i were to do it again i would have stuck with oem rotors and the hawk hps pads.

If you haven't tripped the Brake Light then you can reused the Old Brake Wear Sensor. Posi-Quiet is a decent choice for the $$$. I would go with the Semi-Metallic if you do.
