squeaky brakes. suggestions?
ok, i apparently have the notorious squeaky wheel / brake problem. my OEM brakes and rotors have about 14k miles on them, total on the car is 63k.
1. when i press on the brakes, they squeal horribly. the pads have plenty of thickness to them and the rotors barely have a lip on the edge. 2. when i start rolling at low speeds, my car squeals. this happens up to about 15 mph. then the squeek stops. I have a couple questions : can i get away with changing just the pads and/or sensors? or do i have to change pads/ rotors / sensors? any suggestions about non-oem pads that will cut down on squealing? this is my daily driver, i dont track it, and rarely drive very "spirited", but would like something thats stops well. my main concern is the embarrasment the squeal causes.

try this first:
http://www.crcindustries.com/auto/co...x?PN=05016&S=N http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76418 I put about 1/2 as much as Mr. 5 did, no squeal. Edit: saw your other thread. It's unlikely it's the pads, it's probably the pad's backing plate oscillating/squealing with the brake caliper. I'd highly recommend that you stick with OEM (Ate) brake pads.
