I hope I haven't got a problem already here but my 335 seems to feel a bit shaky on idle. I wouldn't go so far as to say it has a "rough" idle but I can definitely feel little shakes while sitting in traffic. The rev needle doesn't move at all so it's nothing major but it's annoying me.

Any experience of this ideas?

Thats just the experience I had with my 320i, a number of things were replaced including coils plugs injectors etc.

Mine is a tiny bit 'shakey' as well but to notice it I have to turn the sereo on mute and concentrate. I put it down to their being a big engine with explosions happening in side it 3 feet in front of me. Or should I be worried as well?

Does the "loud pedal" fix it then?

How soon does it come back after that?

If thats the case, thats fine. Its not a problem as such, its just a bit annoying and i spose im being a bit over the top as its a new car to me.

It only occurs on idle.
so give it a bit of throttle and should be fine.

My unfounded speculation is a weakness in either fuel pump or ecu managment of idle rpm.

Either way, the car is not happy at 600rpm, but is fine after 700 or so.

I'm sure it is normal to be able to feel that the car is running? If it really is shakey or hunting for idle then maybe start worrying.

I came from an RX8. If you want to feel a rough idle that is basically described by any dealer as a 'feature of the car' then look no further. I had to close the window at the lights for fear of being thrown out! With the belt on!

mine shaked on startup and sometime on idle and it was running rough

i though it was plugs or coils which i replaced to no effect ,but it was the vanos soleniods ,i replaced the inlet and its not shaked since

now i'm not saying thats whats wrong with yours ,i think these engines just dont idle right if theres something alittle bit wrong and its causes a shake on idle ,I'd get the usual diagnostic tests done they should be able to find it

It's worth checking to see if it has had the injector recall work done.

My idle on a cold start gradually got worse over a few months until a couple of days before it was due for the recall work it started on 5 cylinders.

The replacement injectors cured the cold idle issues. It's just a shame that it started misfiring at over 2.5k rpm immediately after collecting it from the dealer following the work...

I also came from an RX-8. I'd seen the rough idle discussed on forums but never suffered from it myself.

Just had this.

29CF code logged.

Misfire on 3.

Replaced the coilpack - good as new

Ok guys, may be paranoid but I'm pretty sure the shakes are now worse and it doesn't feel normal.

However, it's only on idle. Still drives fine and pulls like a train when need be. What could cause this? Software, spark plugs, fuel pump?

Help me plsssssss.

I'm pretty sure a lot of petrol cars from various manufacterers suffer from this and its usually one of the coilpacks, as m1bjr has already mentioned.

Sorry, didnt realise you were asking me. Answer is, I dont know. Only had the car a couple of weeks. Cant see any record of plugs being replaced. Thing is, I dont wanna pay for diagnostics without knowing what may be wrong (dont really trust dealers). I may take it to my independant mechanic and see what he thinks first.
