Poss sale advice
All
Due to a change in work we're going down to one car and so the 330d manual needs to go. Dealers given me an ok trade in but said I'd get much better privately as its super rare and a good spec. They had prob valuing apparently because if it. Question is, is he massaging my ego because he's pulled my pants down on trade in (although he's close to glasses guide detailed price) or does he have a point. Is there an appetite out there for 330d saloon on 11 plate with good spec. Spec wise it's LMB, saloon, 16k, pro nav, HK, oyster, Internet, vis pack, perf pedals, 5 yr service pack, heated seats, part elec seats, lumbar support, bmw apps Is it worth sticking it on PH? What sort of price would you guys be putting on for if so? I've never sold a car of this value privately before so any pot holes to watch out for? Cheers everyone Phil |

Thanks for the heads-up Omaragha but this has too many doors (and not my choice of colour if I'm being picky) for me. Though not for me it does sound a belting car with great spec - what is the dealer offering you as a trade-in figure?? That's key to deciding whether a private sale is worth the hassle.
As a rule of thumb you'll end up getting more privately (as the dealer always has to allow for 'prep' costs before sale) however with a private sale you don't know how long it'll take, how many dickheads you'll get messing you around, etc, so that's what you need to weigh up - is the lower dealer trade-in figure worth it due to the convenience it'll bring?? edit - of course dependant upon the price maybe it could be the right colour/shape

The Mrs wants something smaller so we've ordered an M135i. Same spec as the 330d options-wise as I love all the toys. Well, apart from this one's got black leather as I was made to do that as we'll prob have a kid before this one gets chopped in oyster plus kid = constant worry in my OCD driven mind. I'm sure one or two of you get what I mean!
New car due at the dealers on 17th. They've offered me £24,250 for the car which I think is reasonable. If anyone was interested between now and then drop me a PM. I'll write a note about how the 135i compares as and when. |
