Yes, that IS CORRECT. That is the way the SIB system works.

This is all the same SIB.

Does it sound better on your end or do you sound cleared to the person you are talking to? Everyone sounds fine to me. They say I sound like crap. It would be handy if this update fixed that.

Sounds like that would supercede 25.1.1, but this is the first I've heard of 25.02.

well...
someone mentioned that this could be 25.00.02
and the dealer is just saying 25.02 omitting the middle numbers.
making you think that this is the latest when it could be an older one.
oh well.
I'll email my service guy and try to get more answers.

Although, now that I look at the numbers, 25.1.1 is greater than 25.02. I think I was using that new math the first time around.

The official BMW PROGMAN (formerly CIP) numbering convention is ##.##.##. There is no such thing as 25.1.1. It would have to be 25.01.01. If indeed there was a 25.02.00 that would be newer than 25.01.01. Many (actually most) BMW service centers incorrectly provide the numbers to you. You can really only rely on Target Data Status in the Measures Plan or Final Report and use that to convert to PROGMAN versions ##.##.##. I provided that cross reference chart in post above.

I just got my stealership to install 25.02 past Friday and it works great.. According to the tech guy there, 25.02 is the newest and it was released just two weeks ago. I think the actual version# is 25.00.02 and my voice command works great, although I kind of prefer the previous warmer color theme.

Well, if you actually got 25.00.02, then you didn't get the latest since 25.01.01 is out. Does your receipt have a number on it?

How about this one... I leave my 335i (october build) at my local BMW dealer because my ipod adapter stopped working and I mentioned the pop up arrow problem and idrive runs REALLY slow. My SA says no problem, he knows whats wrong and keeps the car for the day. It comes back and I notice idrive is absolutely NO DIFFERENT. I see on the service form SIB 846106 found and updated. This is not the same service bulletin needed to upgrade to 25.01.01 from what I have read. Anybody have any idea what they gave me? Now I have to try this all over again or wait till my 10k service... Very irritating.

Well, I have an appointment for June 4 for software update.
In the meantime, I'll try to get the exact version # my dealer has.
But, 25.00.02 is not the latest.

That SIB tells them to update with v25.00.00 or higher. Does your Pop-up arrows work now?

The only time the arrow is displayed on the right hand side is when I set it to arrow direction. Otherwise if its a map or trip computer or whatever, NO ARROW'S. Idrive is still painfully slow. I don't think my SA understands what the arrow can do, all he kept telling me is the arrows work fine if I set it to the arrows. I then argue that it should pop up regardless of the right screen.
Time to break out the SIB for this fix...

What was broken on your sunroof?

Odd - they did "work" on my sunroof, too, when they did the update to 25.01.01 today. My work order says the sunroof was reset. I had no complaints about the sunroof. When I opened it on my way from the dealer, it sounded like it was scraping or something. It has never sounded like that before.

I closed it, then opened it again, and it was fine. I tried it a couple more times, and it still seems fine, so I'm not going back unless it does it again. But I wonder why they even did whatever they did, and also wondering what happened to yours?

So far, I'm happy with 25.01.01. The map doesn't look as nice, IMO, and iDrive is no faster than before, but the POI search and having the pop-up arrow work right are very welcome updates.

Some of my thoughts, moving from PROGMAN 21 to 25.01.01. I don't know how many of these changes are from v25 or if they've been around in previous updates.

Overall, it is a big improvement. Menus are a little more logically arranged and it is nice to not have to click "accept" when I start the car. Having the screen start at the last open screen is a much smarter way to do it. Nice job, BMW.

The map colors, fonts and menus are mostly uglier, IMO. I really liked the old map and graphics.

There is a new screen for the main nav window - arrow display, which is different than the arrow display on the assist window. It is sort of like a "current position" plus "arrow display" in one, on the big window. I like it and think I'll use it often when routing, with the small map on the right side.

You can no longer just click on the "i" symbol next to the map to turn off icons. Instead, you click it, then it pulls up a menu asking whether you want to turn off the icons or search for other POIs. You click "turn off the icons," then have to push up and click to exit and get back to the map. A PITA to make the icons disappear, IMO.

All of my radio presets, speed volume setting, Logic 7 settings, and equalizer settings were gone and Bluetooth was screwed up. I had to re-pair my phone and recreate my settings, but it works fine now.

The nav voice and VR response voice now come only out of the left speakers. Maybe just the left front (near the driver), instead of all the speakers.

I used to have the voice instructions "break up" on occasion. That issue may be fixed. At least, I haven't had that happen yet.

I used to get a strange high-frequency noise intermittently from the radio. It was very high-pitched and pretty quiet. I always thought it was from a car's brakes near me, before I realized it was a random radio noise. That appears to be fixed.

Very good news - the "CD continues to play when muted" and "CD continues to play when car is off" seems to be fixed!

The arrow pop-up in the assist window issue is fixed.

The POI search works great! It's like having a real nav in the car now.

When I say "CD Track 1," the guy doesn't dramatically repeat "CD. Track... one." before playing. It just starts playing.

With CD Text, the track name is on the bottom of the CD screen, but not the very bottom like it was before. Instead, it's like an overlay in the bottom middle. On the very bottom, it says CD 01, just like on other (non-entertainment) screens.

Contrary to other reports, iDrive does not seem any faster or more responsive. Mine was never that bad to begin with, so I'm not complaining. It always was just a little bit sluggish. It still is.

Maybe I'm imagining things, but I swear my car (engine) is a touch less responsive. Or maybe it is just a smoother acceleration curve. I swear I don't feel the valvetronic surge at 2700-3000 RPMs as much as before when accelerating slowly. Did any of the software updates affect how the engine runs? Accelerating fast still feels the same, but I feel like I have to push the gas down more to do it.

All in all, I am glad I got the update. The POI search alone is worth any of the drawbacks.

Did the iDrive upgrade mess with any of your nav settings or data - e.g. did you keep your existing Address Book entries etc.?

I was hoping that it would speed the I Drive up as well but clearly not from your experience.

BK,
Is there any way to save the memory settings (like address book, sat radio, etc.)?

I have had my Navi crash sporadically since I've had it, so I want to have it updated with new version -- hopefully it will fix these.
