when you can get to it look asap above the sunvisors - that's were my wife (who else tries a make-up mirror) found the copy of the BMW internal accident report after a similar two week delay in promised delivery

It is very likely that the dealership would not leave that report in the car at the time of delivery.

I suggest the OP threaten to cancel the order and take his business elsewhere.

hhkim I feel for you. What's going to happen to your eco credit? I assume the dealer would still honor it, if not because they have to then just out of good will for the fact that it took so long.
The eco credit will be honored since I ordered it before November 2nd. Plus, its gonna be extended to Dec 31st since absolutely nobody is buying the diesel.

I just want to see the final result of all of this. I can't wait until I finally receive the car and ask them straight in their faces why it took all this time. My own estimated delivery time is Christmas now lol. I'm assuming if it doesnt come by then, then the carrier drove off a cliff; who knows, they might have already drove off a cliff.

My 335d arrived at the dealer yesterday and I picked it up today. It arrived at the VPC on about October 17, so total time from VPC to dealer was about 2.5 weeks.
The car stank on the inside - not a new car smell, but something like a glue or strong solvent. This was an ED, and the car did not smell like this when I dropped it off. I'd be curious to see if there was something like that when your car finally arrives.
Good luck and keep us posted.

At least your cars are in the US. Mine is stuck at the dock in Germany. I have heard a rumor that there is a port authority strike in Germany, so the cars are not getting put on the ships. My car was done with production and at the docks on 10/11 and it is still sitting there. I am getting really annoyed.

I have a friend in NY with the same situation as you. She got her car quickly. Maybe it is west coast thing. To my knowledge, the dealers in Orange County, CA are waiting for inventory.

My buddy is my CA, so I doubt he would lie to me.

Sorry, I had my dates off a bit. I just confirmed them. Car ordered 10/8, started production 10/9, out of QC 10/14, so it probably didn't get to the dock until 10/15 or 10/16.

Here's my new plan.

I am canceling my order and making them reorder my car. So ridiculous.

That's not ideal (and certainly very frustrating), but probably the best thing. With a wait this long, it's almost certain something happened to the car. Waiting another month or two is better than taking delivery of a damaged car.

As others have mentioned, nobody is required to disclose anything to you as the buyer. The car could have rolled off the ship into the water - if they can fix it, they will, and you would never know. Perfectly legal (for whatever stupid reason).

Ok, so they finally found my car. It was at the port the entire time, collecting dust. I asked about potential damage and the dealer said there was none and there was an error between the port and the truck company. FAIL.

On the next truck out to BMW of Annapolis; hopefully arriving by the end of this week.

At the end of this debacle, I am amazed at the lack of communication and organization between BMW, the port, the truck company, and the dealer. But at least I'm getting my car.

Congrats! When you pick it up, make sure you inspect it very carefully. Hopefully they're being honest and nothing's gone wrong, but it's better to be safe.

Oh and post some pics up when you finally get it

Interestingly, Port Hueneme, where all the west coast region vehicles are delivered is no longer operated by BMW. Effective November 1, it is run by a third party company. Should be fun for those of us on the West coast.

Check this article out detailing what happens to your car at Port Hueneme or any other vpc presumably.

WOOHOO my car is here, picking it up today when I drive back to MD from Pittsburgh! So weird that once you flex some muscle the dealership magically found my car in less than 24 hrs lol.
