Does Pre-LCI headlights fit into a LCI car?

The reason I asked is the one of my headlights the wiring burnt out due to a bad aftermarket bulb. I need to replace the headlight on my LCI E90 2011.

But after looking at amazon the prices of headlight for LCI E90 is much more expensive than pre-LCI.

I'm looking to buy a set of pre-LCI headlights and swap them into my 2011 LCI E90 is this possible easily without needing any special work?

Wiring does not match up, you will need coding to make them work too.

But as long as its the same version halogen/xenon/adaptive+xenon they can be make to work

Yes and no, Halogen headlights are compatible, I don't know if Xenons are or not.

I purchased aftermarket pre-lci headlights to install on my 2010 because the originals were so damaged no amount of buffing could bring them back, the wiring and lights all worked, just plug and play, the only problem was that halogen bulbs are crap and worse in aftermarket headlights.

So I had to get LED bulbs which at the time, 4 years ago, no LED bulb would fit the halogen housing, I'm not sure if they ever made some that did, soI had to modify the back opening and make brackets to keep them in place.

Did you checked out (your local) junk yard(s)?
It could be considerably cheaper (then Amazon)

Do you need to replace both sides and if not which side are you needing?

Pre LCI halogen has a small bulb inside the high beam reflector, which is the equivalent to halos. The pre-LCI xenon halos are wired to the same terminal on the headlight connector as this little 5w bulb on pre-LCI halogen. So you'd lose the halo rings but functionality wise there is no material difference.
