Can we please get this thread going again? I'm needing some help with what to get done to my car so I can too be near 200k miles. I'm leaking (I think it's oil pan gasket, could be valve cover gasket) and don't know what else to get checked out while I'm in the shop. Looking to spend less than 4k to get the car running like new again, replacing bushing and thinking of coils?

2007 335i with 131k miles
Tuned since 80k miles.

2008 335xi- 127k miles.
Started tuning in 2012 after it hit 100k miles.
The only major repairs to it was the water pump at 80k miles when I hit a big bump on the hwy.

127k (only half of which are on the current motor)

First motor blew up after service put the wrong rear main seal in and it spun a bearing and seized during a test drive due to no oil pressure.

I am slowly getting close to 200k miles, just on 195,000 miles now and the 335i has had its first real problem - an oil leak which is from the main seal.
Annoying as this means g/box is going to have to come off but its a good excuse to put a new clutch in there while its apart (still on the original clutch an did not need replacing)

I've had my current 08 e90 335i for a bit over a year. I bought it with ~99k on it. Just cracked 118k the other day.

I recently did the water pump and thermostat when the water pump finally failed. Also had the oil filter housing gaskets replaced as they were leaking - walnut blasting done at the same time.
The dealer replaced the HPFP, and I had them do the LP sensor while they were in there.
When I first got it one injector was leaking so I replaced it with a used one from eBay and coded it.

The suspension certainly feels warn out. Could use a refresh - bushings, dampers. I suspect the driveshaft center support and or weeblo are wearing - get some vibration under hard acceleration sometimes.

Turbos are original.

Keep getting fault 29E0, fuel trims are pretty high. Trying to trace that problem down but it doesn't seem easy.

I have 90k miles on mine. The biggest issue i had was with the injectors. I finally got mine upgraded to the latest and greatest they use now and car seems to be much happier.

I just head to replace coils as well as the car started to miss-fire

I have a tune so my stock charge pipe needed replacing recently so upgraded to aftermarket from Active Autowerke

Bought mine with 100k too and have about 115,000.

Wow man seems like you have a list of problems. I didnt even touch my injectors, HPFP, bushings/suspension waterpump/thermostat yet "knock on wood"!

This gives me the slightest hopes that I may be able to still drive my car when my finance plan is up. Ill be around 100k when it is. My 2008 135i had so many problems I had to get rid of it at 65k. Funny thing is, I had already replaced all the things everyone over 100k said they had to, so I bet the owner that got it after me had no issues! If my 335is goes on for as long as your 335i, I'll drive it forever!

I bet your LPFP is about to take a dump. How much e85 are u running.

Have u tried adjusting fuel scaler ?

93 octane, no e85. 29E0 occurs on stock tune. I'm sure I could "tune it out" with the fuel scaler, but, if it is occuring stock then something hardware must not be right. With the warmer weather we have had lately it hasn't come back in weeks, but, I'm sure my fuel trims are still close to the threshold.
