First problem with JB4 in 3 months
Here is the email I sent to Terry, please chime in if you can
I have a n55 335x drive with Jb4, Dp’s CPS and intake… I have been running 103 octane mixed with 93 on map 7 for a week and everything was fine until this morning. I turned the car on and it went to 1000 rpm and shut off, did it 4 times and I finaly took the key out and re started again and it was fine…. About 10 minutes later on the road I got check engine light on and pulled off to the side the road and the car just sputtered and shut it self off… It would then rev to 1500 on its own and then shut off again over and over and I took the key out again and re started and it was fine for another few minutes (I put it to map 0 when it went in to limp mode) and I still have issues…. Car sputters, it goes for a few feet and while in drive everything shuts off….I still have to read the codes but what do you think it might be, I have about 8k on the car.

2BDA: Rail pressure sensor, electrical: Short circuit to earth (The diagnostic function monitors the rail-pressure sensor's lower voltage limit.)
2BF8: Fuel Rail pressure sensor, plausibility: Signal frozen (The diagnostic function monitors the variations in the signal from the rail-pressure sensor) 2E4C: Golf Tee mod (disconnected exhaust-gas flap): Normal |

To install the intake, didnt they have to take off and reconnect the BMS intake to the connector? The intake was installed along the DP's and CP a month ago.

Its not the same connector, you talk about the MAF connector on the intake and I talk about the Fuel Pressure Sensor just 6 inches back, harder to reach.

Its been ok for over a month when everything else was re installed and ran fine.. doesnt make sense why its happening now. I just briefly checked and everything looks fine connection wise (tight). I think map7 and 103 octane mix 50/50 with 93 is what casued the issue.. the question is map 7 with higher boost, could it damage the fuel sensors?

Don't forget to clear codes to see if they return. Also you touched the Fuel Pressure Sensor, you confirm that it's seated correctly, but the fact the car runs fine now make me think it could actually that connector (slightly damaged pin, water inside or something like that). That's why I would clear codes and see what happens in the next days. If it returns, disconnect it and check it visually.

Diognastic tool read 0 psi/pressure for fuel sensor, car runs fine even with it reading 0 so we are now reconnecting everything to make sure and now it's reading 710 psi at idle which is correct. Now I am wondering why the sensor was not reading it correctly to begin with. I now know why my proceed at the time was screwed up which brings me to believe I may have a damaged sensor.
