Ok its not ideal but it could be a lot worse.

The radio was stolen from my VW in Czech, the dealer kept my car for 5 weeks and would not give me loan car. The radio was not in stock but they would not give me my car back unless I gave them a 5k (pounds) deposit as they had already ordered the radio but could not bill the insurance company until they fitted it.

They also somehow managed to bill the insurance company a total of 8k to replace the RNS510 unit stolen from the car + damage caused
Yeah i agree that i have been given a pretty decent loaner but its not ideal, still no word on the parts arriving!

Yes it is, I spoke to BMW UK 9 times over the past 4 weeks. I recorded each conversation. I'm off on holiday for 3 weeks now so I'm not that bothered. After holiday, if the car is still not fixed, first I will go mental and after I cool down I will get 3 series...

28 days! I'd go bonkers without my own car for that length of time!
Was your car drivable? With hindsight, would have been quicker to drive to Germany and get it done there!

No it wasn't drivable at all. The whole power steering went down. It was VERY difficult to turn the steering wheel, while moving (19 alloys).

I totally agree with you. The fact that they still manufacture this car (E92) doesn't help as well. I spoke to various people in the UK and Germany during these 28 days. It showed me how little BMW UK can do. The whole company is driven from Germany and BMW UK can not even check the ETA for a part!!! Can you imagine? Till the very last day BMW UK did not have any shipping information or any information weather this part arrives tomorrow or next month. Suddenly, received a phone call last Monday that the car is ready for collection. Is this how global, multi billion enterprises work these days?

It gets better...During collection I've noticed a massive scratch on the wing mirror I havent seen the car for a month so I thought maybe I went bonkers!
No, It appeared that everyone from the service dep. knew that this one wasnt there before They took a chance After 30 seconds from me going mental a screaming loud they took a mirror from another car and replaced it. 10 minutes later I was on the road

I really question myself after this incident (and previous with E90), weather I should pick Audi, Merc next time and forget about BMW Ultimate Driving Machine

It seems the saga continues! I was given a 335d for a couple of days before I collected my car. Went back to the dealer and was being shown around my car when I noticed a huge scuff/ scratches down the front bumper below the drivers headlight. I was Raging but they accepted blame and booked my car back in to be repaired on Wednesday! So I jumped in the car and headed home.... Only to find when driving in a straight line my steerig alignment was way out! Turned round and headed back to the dealership an went mental! Manager has now apologised and given me his car untill mines is repaired so I'm into 5 weeks without my car ! I have had a 1 series convertible, 3 series touring, 335d coupe and now an f10 523i msport which is lovely to drive. Maybe I'll have a x5 next week!

What dealer are you using?

Sounds very familiar to the care and quality of work I've had so far from a BMW garage too.

its taken four months to drop to minimum so its not loosing it too quickly so im hoping its just something minor. Glad its under warranty though, don't fancy the bill if it is a new rack!

I will let you know on Friday!

I might be well off the mark here but recently when ordering my e93 they upgraded to servotronic steering for free. I think he said something about the problems Japan had recently but could it be something to do with these steering issues people seem to be having?
(no idea what differences the servotronic means to parts but just thought I'd mention it in case it helped)
