I'm thinking about improving the turn in on my E92 msport 335i which currently has no suspension mods. The E9x M3 strut brace and E93 sway bar seem to be the best way to start and not spend a huge amount.

Has anyone done both? Is it worthwhile doing both or is doing just one of the upgrades sufficient?

I will probably leave everything else as is so wondered if it's worth doing this mod.

On the topic of the M3 strut brace, I see you have MSPort spec so you'll already have braces in place. Substituting the M3 braces will have minimal effect IMHO.

Huh? M Sport 335i's and SE 335i's have exactly the same strut brace which fixes to one point on each of the strut towers. Although I agree with the latter statement, I fitted the m3 strutbrace only because I have coilovers and the standard brace hit the adjustment knob.

On the second point of the e93 ARB, I've read quite a few posts about it helping to dial out some of the understeer felt on the standard setup. I have the e93 m3 front ARB and e92 m3 rear and can say that it feels much better than the standard setup.

I think you answered your own question! I've read that a better M3 mod to dial out understeer is to fit M3 front wishbones and tension struts. Part numbers as follows:

Left Wishbone link -31102283577
Right Wishbone link -31102283578
Left Tension link - 31102283575
Right Tension link - 31102283576

I went from the standard E92 strut brace to the M3 one and there is a noticeable difference. Not only does the M3 brace fit using all three nuts at the strut tower end, it also bolts up to a cast U piece at the bulkhead, whereas the stock items just have a slot that slides over a bolt. I got rid of a couple of dash rattles by fitting mine, which shows how much rigidity it adds.

Of course the easiest and cheapest way is wider front rubber

Firming the front bar alone will make matters worse, not better.
It might 'feel' better but you'll be even more prone to pushing wide.

Same with the strut braces, its about the last thing to do really. It adds feedback/feel but wont make you turn any faster.

More front camber is best after more rubber if its understeer on entry to tight corners you are trying to fix.

The standard brace is slotted push-in at the bulkhead end, so it has no extension resistance.

As said by seanblee the M3 uses rigid multi bolt cast fixings and is a solid 3 point brace, lots of creaks removed with the extra rigidity.

Fitting a thicker front ARB will just increase understeer and reduce front grip further, you need to increase the rear stiffness to increase turn in.

It might make it 'feel' sharper at the front, but it will make it worse.

Thanks for the feedback Sean - you're the first person I've read who's done this and is prepared to say it's made a difference over the OEM braces...

So it looks like the way forward would be a M3 strut brace and M3 front wishbones and tension struts. I'll look into those!
