I usually change mine at 7,500 miles, but right now I'm at 8,500 since I didnt have the time to DIY it, but will this weekend. I'm not that worried about going over a little since lot of people follow the 15,000 miles and say its still good.

I'm using Total 0W-30 LL01 oil with an OEM filter for the cold months (it was changed in early November), and I'll probably switch to Total 5W-40 LL01 with an OEM filter in the spring as it warms up. My driving patterns are such that a 6 monthly change period is about a 7500 mile change interval, and I'm fine with that.

Last oil change switched to Mobil 1 0w-40. I have found that it doesnt evaporate at high temps like the BMW oil was doing.
I was starting to have to add a quart every few thousand miles with the BMW oil (early build, no oil cooler), but have not had any issues with oil loss with the Mobil 1. Granted it is winter here, so we will see how the Mobile fares this summer. |

That is correct. It is not the same 100% formulas like it used to be a few years ago before its refinery in Houston was damaged by a big hurricane. The original stuff was very good, but I don't know if it was LL01 certified.
