How accurate are these stock dynolicious numbers for 335i?
So soon I am getting the car tuned, so while still stock, I did a few runs to see what I'd get. I used a dynolicious on an iPhone, and placed it laying flat in my center console where it would not move. My car is a sedan, RWD, automatic with sport package 335i.
Temperatures are about 42 degrees, but I'm on the stock Brdigestone Run-flats, which are summer tires - so I am sure this has an affect too. I seemed to get similar results either with traction on or off, and in DS sport mode. Manual mode did sometime net me a little time, though. These are my times below. Does anything look really off? At launch, I did it with the 1 foot rollout setting - and the car takes a little time before the turbo spools and it hooks up, so I think I'm losing some time on the initial launch. Holding the brake and building up a little RPM speed did seem to help, but what's the best way to launch a RWD ilke this? By the way, I did numerous 0-60 runs, and I consistently got from 5.4 to 5.7 seconds. The manual says the automatic runs 5.6, so I guess I'm right in there with the estimates. 0-10 MPH: 1.06 sec 0-20 MPH: 1.80 sec 0-30 MPH: 2.48 sec 0-40 MPH: 3.52 sec 0-50 MPH: 4.46 sec 0-60 MPH: 5.59 sec 0-70 MPH: 7.09 sec 0-80 MPH: 8.53 sec 60': 2.76 sec @ 30.4 MPH 330': 6.42 sec @ 62.8 MPH 1/8 mi: 9.40 sec @ 83.6 MPH Max Speed: 83.1 MPH Max Acceleration: 0.90 G's Peak Horsepower: 263 HP |

Everything looks pretty accurate from my experience. Try launching in 2nd gear while building the revs just a little. That seems to be how I get my best launches.

I'll try the 2nd gear launch. Funny enough, I would get a lot of variation in the horsepower numbers - from as low as 230 all the way up to 263 wheel horsepower. I guess it depends on how the car hooks up for the dyno app to be correctly calculated.
I wonder how people get 0-60 to under 5 seconds stock in the 335i! It seems hard to do. |
