Hmm, the earlier MY designation obviously fits into their strategy to move up the scheduled intro of the F30, I suppose. I'm guessing the F30 will be introduced Spring or summer of '11 in Europe as 2012 and subsequently in NA in the fall of that year.

I hope my question makes sense....
I already addressed this (sort of) on the first page.

But you're talking about the 2010 models being affected by major depreciation.
Although I guess to balance the 2010 model depreciation, the 2011 models will depreciate less which sort of answers my question

They did this to the 2003 E46 M3 as well (not sure about the rest of the E46 line). I ordered my M3 in Dec. 02 then read on the forums about the LCI updates coming so I called up my stealer and told him to delay the order so it was a March '03 build for the main reason to get the LED tails and longer trunk lid handle. There was talk that it would be labelled as a 2004 model but it ended up being called 2003.5. Same thing may happen here. 2010.5 perhaps??

I purposely ordered a 2010, as I really dislike headlights with eyebrows, which appear to be coming on the 2011 model. Also, with only a few months of 2010 production, they have the potential to be rare and desireable many years hence

Anyone know how this will effect the holiday discount thing they are running right now? I'm planning on ordering a E92 for early April Euro Delviery tomorrow.

I beleive you need to sign the financing paperwork by Jan 4th to get the credit, so if you delivery is in April, you won't even be able to lock the rate long enough (90 days is the lock time).

From the BMWFS site: "Holiday Credit must be applied to a Lease, OwnersChoice or Retail Finance contract though BMW Financial Services by January 4, 2010"

....what does "sport" "s" define... sport package? I know BMW is now adding "sport" and "x-drive" logos on hte front fender now on E90/91/92/93

X-drive is obvious but if badged "sport" does that mean ZSP was added to the car?

Could "HP" include a factory-installed performance package (which is the enhanced coolant system). This is currently done at the PDC but making it a factory option would presumably reduce costs (and wastage of the brand new, "base" coolant plumbing and radiator fan). It adds only a few HP but is a nice kit.

Since the early 2011 model year only appears to apply to a subset of models, its impact on 2010 depreciation will not be that significant (compared to miles driven....). But it will make 2011-model buyers feel a little warmer in their bellies.

If you get delivery by April 4th, then you are in the 90 day window.

Conspiracy theory: maybe BMW is fudging the E9X model year cutoffs so they can introduce the F30 sooner.
