19" VMR VB3 Hyper Black Rims

I'm looking into buying a new set of rims for my 2009 Black Sapphire Metallic 328xi Coupe. I found a set of 19" VMR VB3 rims in hyper black on Bimmian for $848 but I do not have the money to lower my car anytime soon. Would you guys recommend going with 18" or 19" rims? Also what size tires would you recommend? This is my first car and I am hoping to get some advice before buying them. I would appreciate it if everyone could share their thoughts.

I also found a similar picture of what my car would look like with these rims. What do you guys think?

Those are the same rims I went with in 19" and I've been happy with them.

I dont know how much you care about wheel brands, but I just saw these on ebay for about $200 less.

Thanks I fell in love with the color from the moment I saw it haha. Is there a reason why you suggest going with 18" rims instead? It would be awesome if you could post some pictures of your car so I can get an idea of what it would look like.

Has the paint chipped at all since you bought them? What size tires would you recommend I buy if I were to go with the 19" rims? It would really help if you could post some pictures of your car so I could get an idea of what it would look like.

If you live in an area with poorly kept roads, 18s are probably more ideal for you. If you're careful about where you drive, and you want the wheels to fill up the wells a bit more, 19s are more ideal.

Just keep in mind that the ride quality with 19s will be a bit more rough than with 18s.

Thanks for the input! I'm starting to lean towards the 18s now. What brand/ size tires do you suggest I buy for them? I'm looking for all season tires. Are these rims safe for all season use?

Generally you would want to use a 235/40/18 and 265/35/18 tire for a staggered setup. The most popular all-season we pair with our wheels has been the Continental ExtremeContact DWS, and a runner up would be the General G-Max AS-03.

We have customers all over the globe running our wheels in various weather conditions. We sell winter wheel and tire combos, summer wheel and tire combos, etc. As long as you take care of the wheels, they will take care of you.

after numerous number of flat tires (maybe i just have bad luck) over the past several years, im sick and tired of ruining an entire day each time it happens just to look for a place that has the correct 19" tire sizes in stock. almost all shops rarely stock 19s as theyre not sold as often as smaller sizes. after my last two flat tires (separate incidents) a couple months ago, im over it now. i refuse to run runflat tires and i dont want to carry around a spare in the trunk either - so my best option for me is to just downsize to 18s. plus im getting older and i could do without the bumpy ride lol

generally 19s look great on coupes, but you have an xi and have severe altitude to deal with. id say 18s if you dont plan to lower. i have these in 18 on my xi sedan without a drop and it looks awesome.

Thanks for all the help! I have a few more questions for you if you don't mind. Would I put 235/40/18 tires on the front and 265/35/18 tires on the back? Will this fit on my car without any issues such as rubbing? Also where can I purchase a wheel and tire combo?

I have an e92 335i i wanna go with the 19"s im wondering if a 19x8.5 et 35/ 19x9.5 et33 will cause me any problems such as rubbing? I dont want to do any fender rolling.

Plus i have been trying to find a tire combo with VMR but in vain.

Can you explain this? I've always heard that the outside diameter (of tire + rim) remains the same (whether or not you get a bigger wheel) because if that gets altered it screws up your mileage readings. So if you go with a bigger wheel, you get a lower profile tire to keep the outside diameter consistent. Therefore a larger rim wouldn't fill up the wheel well any more than a smaller rim because in the end, the outside diameter of your tires is always the same.

Is this false/incorrect? Always wanted to get to the bottom of this...

With our recommended wheel offsets, those tires will fit great. That's actually what we also recommend for the tire sizing, so you shouldn't have an issue putting them on. We do offer wheel and tire combos.

Those are our recommended 19" specs for your car. No fender work required, no rubbing, no tire stretching. 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 will fit perfectly on them. We can get any tire sold on Tirerack.

You don't want to increase the overall diameter compared to stock, because your speedo will not be accurate, and you will increase your chance of rubbing, among other things. The overall wheel and tire combo will be roughly the same height when sized correctly.

What I meant was that the wheels won't look small on the car. Personally, I think 19s suit the size of the car more than 18s. 18s can still look great though, it just depends on how you set the car up.

Okay so I still haven't purchased these rims yet. I have a Black Sapphire Metallic 2009 328xi Coupe. What size tires would you recommend for 19" VMR VB3 rims? Also what color rims do you think would look best? I have currently have a gloss black grille, gloss black window trim, and tinted windows.

I would recommend 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires. As far as the finish goes, I'd probably go for gunmetal. Nice aggressive contrast, without losing detail in the wheels.

Will that setup fit without any rubbing issues?

What color are your rims? Hyperblack?
