The only pulls I see are at the shift, which I thought was normal...maybe not? Am I maxing timing at the end of 4th gear? Hmm, maybe not good then.
I have my stage 2+Aggressive graphs from a couple months ago at home I can post this evening. edit: I was able to dig up one. I have about the same drop at the shift (no timing corr. here, sorry). Last edited by raceyBMW; 10-11-2012 at 10:11 AM.. |

But you haven't logged timing corrections on all cylinders.

Yeah, I did on that stage2+ graph, I just didn't plot them. I will get something later that show it.
So last time I showed my graphs to Cobb, they didn't think anything bad about the timing pulls at the shift, so I never really gave them much consideration. Is this something I need to be careful of? I am auto BTW. Also, I filled up with race gas at the drag strip, so probably never put more than about a mile or two on the car with the race gas in (6 gal of 104 with 2 gal of 91 still in the tank) and the race gas map loaded. |

It can be normal with the OTS maps, but it can be mostly or completely tuned out. Your timing pulls were big enough to warrant some work in that area if you have ATR. I was having similar issues before I modified their OTS E30 map.

stupid question: but I might be planning try the e30 maps out tonight, but I'll be taking a small road trip with the gf the next day. will it be fine if I drive on the E30 maps over a long distance? or should i switch to s2+ just to be safe?

Boost was still very similar to stage 2+Aggressive. Since I still have some race gas in the tank, I'm going to go log on stage 2+aggressive and sport tonight to see if I am getting the timing drops at the shift. |

You will have no problems with the proper mixture just expect worse fuel economy.

Shouldn't be an issue, but keep in mind that it may be difficult to find more E85 if you're going very far and need to fill up again on the road.

When I see that it's because my intercooler is heat soaked and timing is being pulled due to charge temp. I'd have to look a the tables again, but I *think* 130s is high enough to start seeing that.

I still need to check the datalogs on those dyno pulls, my charge air intake temps must have been through the roof. My buddy called me and told me about 3 DYNO pulls for $40 so the setup wasn't all that great. The fans were weak and barely pointed in my cars direction. I'll post them up logs tonight. |

My IAT's were less than 110°F last night the entire night, so I don't think its due to that.

Went back in the thread and looked at your log from last night. It went flat once the timing correction decayed back to zero. At that point you were at fairly high rpm. I agree that it's suspiciously flat, but 13.5 is about where those OTS race maps seem to max out at for higher load levels. It might just be the map.

Going to run the 100 map tonight, will I be okay if I run my car down to 1/2 gallon or so (10 miles till empty) of 91 then put 8 gallons of 100 in it?

So, based on racey BMW's experience, is the concensus not to run the race map at this time, due to possible extreme timing drops. I am headed to the race track (one with turns) for several 30min sessions, and I am now worried about running the race map for that long. Maybe I should stick to stage 2+ FMIC aggressive? Any benefits to adding 100 octane gas to stage 2+ aggressive? (full tank of ~95 octane)
