Dont be jealous now........, good drive, but to be honest, needed another 100BHP. Shit on fuel, but who cares about economy, my 335D would run it into the ground, but the R32 was a better drive, until I finally get my 335D remapped and the suspension done. If you owned a .:R32 , youd know what I mean - - - - -awesome

R32 v BMW 335d. The cars are just different but do me a favour the R32 is far from being rubbish.
We can easily loose perspective sometimes on web sites like this. 1. 99% of people who are into cars would love to be able a £25k R32 hot hatch to buy and run. Everybody on this forum in very lucky to own nice cars. 2. I have never driven a R32 but I would love to have a go in one for a day if someone gave me the keys. I bet it's great fun to drive. 3. 335d is a different car in my opinion. Comfortable, sporty and a mile muncher R32 I am sure would be more fun to throw around a back road. 4. I got my 335d M Sport Coupe last Tuesday and I have driven 900 miles in it. I think it's a fantastic car not that I have driven it hard yet but I know it's all their if I need it and it's the right car for me at the moment 100% happy with my choice. but... my last car was a 2006 Boxster 987 and the BMW is not a patch on it in terms of steering feel and driver involvement. I don't want to cause a Porsche vs BMW argument but it's the truth. I know they are different cars and different purposes but the BMW is lifeless in comparison. When I read threads of change my dampers, springs etc I can understand exactly why people would want to do it but if you really want that kind of car save yourself the hassle and buy any Porsche and trade the BM. The BM has far more power by a mile. I guess what I am trying to say is Hot hatch, Coupe, Sports car they are all different but appeal to me. I will always look at nice sporty cars and I would be happy driving any of them. Friday night rant over...... |

Lol well, yeah I guess.. and I agree with Gibbo, the porsche is a brilliant drive, you sit IN the porsche and it surrounds you, hard to explain unless you've driven one. The BMW is much more like a, "limo", is the best way to describe, big, long, it shouldn't handle the way it does ?! I guess the R32 is like a Mini Cooper S on steroids ? never tried one but would be a reall hooly tool I guess. SJ |
