Hello everyone! My wife is preggers and I'm trying to figure out how to protect my backseat from the little monster. Any suggestions? I saw a storage thing that hangs off the back of the seat on the BMW website that thought may work?

There is really no way to protect a car's interior against the ruthless attacks of these little devils... Only effective way I can think of is to throw the kid in a 50 gallons trash bag and then put the trash bag on your back seat... But that wouldn't be good for the poor kid's health...

I've had my e92 since my kid was 3...on my 2nd e92 now and never had any issues with trash. All I had as a protection is the prince lion heart seat protector and that's it. No issues with trash...with an infant, all you have to worry about is throw up which will end up on your kid and not the seats. When they get older, have a rule...do not eat or drink in the car. If it's inevitable, make sure you give them non crumby or sticky food, and water! My son is pretty good and never ones did I have to clean up my back seat cuz of food or any kind of mess. He also knows not to touch my windows with his grubby hands.

It's all in how you set the rules bro...you'll be alright. I'm anal when it comes to my car and not just bimmers. Even my Scion and Hondas were pristine inside and out.

In reality the stuff the little ones spill can be cleaned up. However the hard plastic bases on the car seats will gouge and damage seat beyond belief. Look up car seat protector mats on Amazon and buy a good one.

If you teach him/her proper behavior in car they will learn and behave. Otherwise a slap here and there will solve a problem. I do not allow munching in my car. It can be annoying at times but it works. For some reason parents do not want to teach and discipline their kids. I have 0 tolerance for destruction and disrespect.

Drawer mat, comes in a variety of assorted colors, cost close to nothing, very effective protection. My seats have no damage from 2 car seats for 4 years. (can't say the same from the paint on the center console, but as the guy who did the color match diy, if you can buy shoes to your kids,... ).

sounds like the issue is more so the car seat hurting the leather rather than the child. Thanks for all the suggestions and I will be shopping around for some type of mat to help protect them.

It's made out of dense foam and won't let the car seat dent your leather...my seats are perfect after 3 years of front facing car seats and I took out the back part when my son switched to no back booster

swissvax elephant fat. Does wonders for leather. Idea is it over nourishes the leather to the point that nothing else can permeate into it since the pores are full. Did all of my interior except my drivers seat to test it and its working as claimed. leather is waterproof now. Only issue is your wife might suspect you're on drugs when you don't want to stop touching your leather afterwards.

Teach the kids from the beginning to be clean. That's a big part of it. I let my son have snacks in the car, but only snacks that won't make a mess, and he knows to grab a wipe when he's done to clean his hands. Find a child seat with cup holders so they can store trash in there.

As for babies, there's no way to baby-proof your car. Leave a big Tupper Wear with lid in the car as the puke bucket, and a full roll of paper towel. I put a trshed towel down first before I mount the child seat.

Remember, it's just a car. You'll be able to get something else nicer when the kid grows up. No need to preserve the car like a prized collectable. Our cars are nice, but it's far from being collectable, unless you have an M3.

LOL I like it! No kids here, but I'd say that if you stick to dry snacks in the car and only water for drinks, it should be fine. That coming from someone who eats In-N-Out in his car and has spilled soda though... What do I know
