Michelin A/S 3 W or V rated?

I just had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 installed on my wife's ride and now noticed Discount Tire messed up and installed 94W instead of the requested (and paid for) 94V which is less expensive. Now I know the technical differences with speed ratings, but what are the real world differences? I'm primarily thinking about treadlife, wet traction, snow traction. Her car will never go above 110mph so speed is not an issue. I know handling will be marginally better with W and comfort might be marginally reduced, but if I want the best SNOW traction these all-seasons can offer, do I complain that they installed W rated instead of V rated? If traction should be equal, I'll keep my mouth shut about it.

Regardless I would still ask for the cash back since they delivered you the wrong one.

I'm pretty sure that the tires he got are more expensive than the ones he paid for. The OP was hard to understand the first time through though...

Prett much the as3 suck in the snow. It's pretty much the tread style and compound. I have dedicated winters and awd and got the as3 and they were horrible in the snow, worst all season tire I've ever driven in the snow. I can't imagine the snow traction being much different between the w or v. Good luck

All-season vs Snow

Unless your Beemer is AWD, I would highly suggest a set of snow tires that you run on it from say Nov 15 to March 15. Michelin makes a nice set of winter tires.

I would look at Michelin Pilot Sport A/S - Better tire for rain and slush of April and November.

Yeah sorry I made the question confusing. Yes I was given a slightly more expensive version of the same tire by mistake without having to pay the extra for it. I purposefully intended to buy v-rated as I saw one post somewhere that said they had heard the snow issues were only with w and y rated. Anyway, I drove around and ride comfort, noise, dry and wet handling seem stellar so I'll just leave them be.
