Wanting to make a comprehensive maintenance list
Hey guys,
I've done some searches and have found a lot of different information. I'm trying to come up with a good maintenance plan for when my new vehicle warranty expires. I bought my 2006 330i as a CPO in July with 32,000 miles. I plan to keep this car until it's paid off (5 years) and maybe even a little longer. I've listed the maintenance intervals below that I've come up with after my searches on here and was hoping some experts could chime in with anything to add, change, or not do all together. My goal is to get a nice comprehensive list together! Oil - 7,500 miles or 1 year Brake Fluid Flush - 2 years (CBS) Brake Pads - CBS Tires - When the tread is gone ATF - 100,000 miles (is this in the CBS?) Differential - 50,000 miles Spark Plugs - 100,000 miles (CBS) O2 Sensors - 120,000 miles Microfilter - 25,000 miles (not sure how the CBS measures this) Air Filter - 50,000 miles (is this even in the CBS?) Coolant - 100,000 miles General Inspection - 1 Year Anything I missed?? Thanks everyone!

The air filter is scheduled for every third oil change, so it is not directly in the CBS.
For what it is worth, which may not be much at all, I changed my serpentine belt at 65k. |

Email Mike Miller; Techtalk@roundel.org. He'll send you 'old school' BMW maintenance.

I changed my serpentine belt at 110k miles when my idler pulley failed and it still looked fine no cracks at all.

Hey guys,
What does BMW say about tire rotations? Thought it was weird I didn't see anything in the service manual I don't think. How often do you guys rotate? Thinking maybe I should have this done at my next oil change.

I'd do it every 5k miles. Rears of lots of negative camber so you don't want them to wear too much before rotating.

BMW used to say (and I think still does) that the cost to pay for rotating tires is not worth the additional mileage you get out of the tires.
However, if you rotate your own tires (DYI) then it is obviously worth it. Like Socom, I rotate mine about every 4 - 5K miles. |
