Good & Honest salesperson at BMW Silver Spring

I am looking at this vehicle

http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...4090/overview/

I have never bought a used car before however the Carfax looks good. I know there was a HPFP issue back when I was looking at 335's at one time. I want to be able to go there and get an honest opinion of this vehicle without the BS.

Also, what else should I worry about other than the HPFP issue?

Thanks!

It is rare you would have a sales person talk about the reliability of a car. Off course they would say the usual is a nice car, blah blah, but reality is they dont even know half of the time about issues the cars have or what to expect. I believe the 2009 lci models do not have the problem. It was more the 2007, 2008 got better and 2009 and on was fix. I know this because that's what I was told back then when I was in the market for a 335i.

My opinion. Car looks very clean. Ok miles and just 1 owner and price is not high imo i will jump on it if you are ready with an offer.

Exactly. I have always heard "Don't buy German" once it's out of warranty. That's what worries me the most. The couple German cars I have owned, I bought new and only kept them a couple years each. Otherwise, I always buy Japanese. Not worried about cost of regular maintenance, just expensive items that may break.

I believe some dealers offer extanded warranties on used vehicles. Ask for it and make them an offer with warranty included. I bought my car used no warranty whatsover and the only problem I have had was to replace the cylinder gaskets which was a $350 repair at a friends shop, other than that just regular maintenance, brakes, oil changes, coolant flush, etc. They will never compare to japanese though. My wife has an Acura TSX and since she bought it, it had 103,000 miles now it has 132,000 and we haven't had a problem since lol.

I would just buy a new car caz you dont know what the other guy did to the car before you. The 335i N54 is like the new civic/supra.

I've got over 100k on my car with no issues I had to replace a lpfp sensor at 31k and that was it. The car is very simple to work on imho coming from hondas also. The parts can get expensive depends on what breaks fuel pumps are easy to replace

I'm not buying new because of the $$$ and because it's not going to be my DD. I have a vehicle that I have for work so I drive that 90% of the time. I also have a 2011 4Runner that I use from time to time. This vehicle is one of those cars that I just "want" if that makes sense.

Yeah they did say I could purchase an extended warranty. I will probably go and take a look at it on Friday. I may see if they can do 20k out the door..which would be around 18k before all the tax etc.

I have an 07 335 that had no hpfp issues. 115k miles, 65k of that tuned or more. Don't buy into the hype. Basically, it used to be that if the car had hpfp issues, it would have it multiple times. I believe it's a moot point now, as after the recall, the number of occurrences is much lower.

See if they will give you the service records and prey that the car was only serviced at a dealership.

Price seems high., I was just offered 23k trade in for my 2011 335i sedan at 30k miles cold weather package, similar equipment ) 10/10 condition. I would try for 17.5k, I've seen that car there for a few months.
