Getting a new exhaust!

Rogue engineering ikon or magnaflow exhaust 14185?

Rogue ikon

Price: $549.95+44 shipping
Installation: $100

MagnaFlow 14815 muffler

Price: $199.99 free shipping
Installation: $100

What I wan to know is? Which one is louder? Which one has less drone? Which one sounds better?

You're comparing a complete exhaust against a muffler? That's like comparing a ring setting vs a diamond. If all you want is a nice noise the 14815 is really good. I had it on my last car. $100 is a bit overpriced for a muffler install by the way.

Also, fasten flame suit.

$100 is not that much. I don't know many mechanics that charge less than $100 and hour for labor. I'd also recommend spending a little extra money and getting the bmw performance exhaust. Sounds great.

If its louder its gonna most likely have more (louder drone) are you mt or at? and what sounds best is a judgment call. tons of exhaust sounds on youtube. I would check those out.

It takes less than 20minutes to install a muffler on a lift

IIRC, the Ikon exhaust is muffler only. So the performance gain will probably be the same for both. I don't think any brand sells a full catback for $549.

I would just go with the Magnaflow muffler since it's half the price. I have no idea what's louder. I can tell you the Magnaflow full catback is not very loud to the driver but pretty loud to anyone standing behind your car. I can set off car alarms if I punch it. Whether you can do that with just the muffler alone, I don't know.

I'll be making a Magnaflow muffler video today with detail addicts exhaust mid pipes and I'll go up a hill. I'll show you how damn loud that drone is. It's too loud IMO and the windows are up, that's just at 2-2 1/2 rpm.

I hated my magnaflows. All they did was drone.

I think the exhaust setup you have probably sounds way louder than just a muffler swap, which is what the OP is considering.

Even if you used the same mufflers, the sound would probably be different considering that you have a 335 and the OP has a 328.

OP, if its possible, you should listen to a variety of exhaust setups in person and decide what you like better. Personally, I would get the 14815, since its cheap and at least it gives the car some sound and it weighs less than stock too. Any gains from a muffler on the N52 are minimal.
