Hey fellas - I just got an HVLP paint sprayer and am going to start painting everything in site - starting with my aero lip and m3 side skirts.

I was wondering if there is anyone in the area who is either a professional or avid DIY'er with painting car stuff and would be willing to give me some advice?

If you have a place I could use that would be even better - I will provide something in return - probably your cold beverage of choice.

I've never sprayed automotive, but I'm an avid DIYer and would like to learn how. Same goes for welding haha

nope - I am not a fan of gravity feed personally - my buddy painted my interior trim but he had a nice big strong belt driven air compressor. I wanted something AC powered that I could be mobile with and still have good results. The electrically powered turbine should be fine.

My m3 side skirts came primed - so I just need to sand if necessary and paint/sand/clear...the aero lip is just bare plastic so that will be a full service job. Should be fun!

I figure if I mess up I can just sand it down and start over...it's just plastic and paint afterall...and they are smaller parts on the lower end of the car so it wont be as noticeable...pretty excited to try - just need the time!

yeah - maybe you are better than I am bc my plastidip on the window trim came out sub par - but I am VERY picky.

I saw your post on the new montego blue - looks nice!

if you bought a roll of the shadowline trim I would buy some off you and we can wrap that up this weekend!

I did buy from shadowline, I bought the least amount possible which was just enough to do all my window trim. So none left over. But I did eff mine up the first go around so I'm gonna re do it...when? who knows? But we could make it a Saturday or something.

Matte -- looks like doo doo all faded and shit may go glossy this time or not get shadowline get 3M or something

that's what I was afraid of - i am also afraid the glossy would be worse over time.

can we just use 3m matte vinyl wrap that ppl use on their cars / interior - I don't see my not right?
