Whilst it's not in the MOT, I'm not sure it's particularly safe or a great idea to have it showing as red

There's a DIY in the DIY section. The OPs write up is pretty good but someone else added the tip of using a small file to do the edges and I added the step of trying to form the film to some extent before applying. You can get a small ignition file from halfrauds for £1.99 which is perfect for the job.

At this rate, mine will be unique if I keep them standard
Anyone taken pics with the reverse lights on? One of the previous owners of a black E91 320d edition MSport did all red. Looked good. |

super effort guys, I'min the market for a pre lci saloon or coupe in the near future. I'd written the saloon off as i didn't like the rear end but the all red rear lights freshen the car up nicely. imo i think all reds > standard > white line > dark line

Some crap pics of my attempt. I cut the slot angled to be more lciish. Glad those years of learning to use a scalpel at University finally paid off. |

Sweet Jeezus. It looks gash. Look at the lights and tell me honestly that badly cut bits of red tape/film is better?
* Surely if people are that hollow about NOT having an LCI a trip to your local BMW garage and a wedge of cash will sort that out. |

1) It's not about wanting an LCI or not wanting an LCI, it's about making a small, inexpensive mod that the owner thinks looks good. 2) if you don't like it fair enough, but calling another owners work 'gash' is downright rude. A simple, polite, 'it's not for me' or ' I prefer the original' would work just as well. 3) I can assure you that if I had a 'wedge of cash' it wouldn't be going on a 3er BMW, LCI or not.... |
