E90 center console light installed

First time posting here. I thought I'd share my mod. Hope you guys like it

I got this led light and housing from a 2014 silverado

There was a lot of cutting for fitment behind the light assembly. I would recommend a smaller light assembly

Nice. I want something similar but with the OEM Orange color.

Probably be ideal to have it on a switch that turns on only when console is open, but maybe that's more complex than a simple DIY.

What triggers it to turn on, definitely a neat idea.

I always wondered why the hell didn't they have a light in there. That is clean! Is it on all the time? What did you tap into the cig lighter?

I want to put a switch to it. It's just finding a switch that's sleak enough and looks like its suppose to belong there, is the hard part.

I tapped into the power accessory receptacle in the center console. So every time the car is on the light is on. If I find a switch that looks like it belongs there I will install it.. It wont be to hard.

For me it was an annoyance for me to turn on all the lights just to look for something in the center console especially when you have all leds and it lights up the whole car.

looks awesome. should put in a pressure switch that will turn the light off when its pressed by closing the armrest and turns on when its released. Similar to how the glovebox light works I bet you could rig something up using the actual glovebox light and some wiring .

That mounted in the side with an extended switch would probably work nicely

Thanks I'm looking for a spring loaded switch similar to that concept.

Did you ever find a switch that worked?
