Post Poll: Have you had a high pressure fuel pump failure?

I was going through this thread the other day reading about how Dinan's tune loses power over time. It seems that a recurring theme, with all tunes, is the high pressure fuel pump. I thought it would be prudent to start a poll to try to identify where the majority of the failures occur.

Also, please post whether or not your local gasoline has ethanol and, if so, what the percentage is.

Thanks everyone!

No issues for me w/ 28k hard driven miles, pretty much all with a tune. 93 octane gas (i usually use Shell), ~10% ethanol. North East US

had my car for two years....First 4 months of ownership, experioenced long cranks for a week only and then never happened again....this might be coincidental but that week was the first time I bought gas at a Shell gas station that I never used before, instead of my usual Shell station that I go to....(BAD GAS MAYBE?)

I've had my car for 2 years with no issues. I use Shell gas fairly consistently (if not Shell, then Texaco), but there are times where I have used non Toptier gasoline with 10% ethanol content because I couldn't find any Toptier stations.

Too bad I can only vote once. In 3 e9x's in my family, we have had 5 HPFP failures. THAT should register on the poll...

I've ran my car pretty hard for 40k miles. No problems. However I have noticed a slight loss of power over time. Maybe im just getting used to it.

Good poll. Though you should also have a "no" option for each region to compare the failure ratios. Otherwise.. its not that useful.

^True. Damn. Should have thought of that.

Thus far, 32% of board members have had a failure. That's a damn high percentage.

@2e9x's: which region are you located in? The fact that you've had 5 HPFPs fail on you is simply stunning. Clearly there was a bad batch out there.

Canada, 20,000 miles, Dinan tune for most, Shell V-Power, no ethanol, no failures.

Knock on wood.

Yes at 2K miles. Since it has been replaced I'm at 9K miles and no problems. I had JB2H before the failure and JB3 pretty much since the replacement HPFP.

BTW, you don't have mid-atlantic on there.

No problems yet with 13k showing. I only buy 93 Octane from Mobil or Sunoco, but regardless of the station both have a "up to 10% Ethanol content" label attached to the pump.
