Car and Driver is reporting slightly different "Official" info today for US Spec cars. They say 335/328 for US not 335/330/325.
"The turbocharged 2007 BMW 3-series coupe has 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque in U.S. spec. A 230-hp 328i and all-wheel-drive 328xi coupe also will be sold here." |

do you guys notice on the pics from bmwusa site, it looks like they are 'photoshoppin' amber reflectors along the wheel wells? am I seeing things? or will the us-spec coupe have clear fronts??? I hope so! cause replacing amber reflectors with painted ones is darn cheap and easy!!

Per BMWUSA.com:
330i Acceleration 0-60 mph - Manual transmission 6.1 sec 325i Acceleration 0-60 mph - Manual transmission 6.7 sec 328i Acceleration 0-60 mph - Manual transmission 6.2 sec So, I guess this pretty much puts an end to the debates, huh? Looks like the 328i is pretty damned close to the 330i in terms of acceleration, and these are just BMW's 'official' numbers. It almost looks like they just tacked on the extra tenth just to avoid stepping on any early adopter's toes. Tsk, tsk, tsk. |

I'll bet the 328ci engine could be easily modified to have the 255 hp of the 330i. All you would have to do is put on the variable geometry intake right?
Also, in the article it says "hofmeister kick" isn't it hofmeister kink? Just wondering. The M3 usually comes out 6 months after the release of the coupe right? So March 2007? |

Hey!!
Don't you guys think these 'official' pics look quite similar to the 'unofficial PSed shots' that came out a few days ago? In fact, I think they look exactly the same! Amazing! These photoshoppers are getting damn good at their job! They even managed to photoshop the entire background correctly! Wow!! I am in awe. |

Good lord, today is a GREAT GREAT day.
It's everything I could have hoped for. Is it pretty much official now that the 335 is replacing the 330 and not an addition? Because I think that goes a long way towards debunking all the talk of the 335 being priced at $45k+ like some were trying to claim. |

OK, here's what we've got thus far in terms of stats and measurements.
The new E92 Coupe is.. + 4.2 inches longer than the E46 M3, but same width and same height. The E92 335i is 156lbs (69kg) heavier than the E46 M3. The E92 328i (in the US) is 66lbs (29kg) heavier than the equivalent E46 330i Coupe. The E92 328i is 66lbs (29kg) lighter than the equivalent E90 330i saloon. The E92 Coupe is 2 inches longer, 1 inch narrower, 2 inches lower but uses the same wheelbase length as the E90 Saloon. |

Will there be a 335 sedan down the road? In any event, this is exciting stuff. I have recently decided not to trade in the WRX this fall for a used BMW and wait until I can get what I really want. If they make the 335 available with xDrive, count me in. If not, I may go for the 328xi in a years time or so. It looks great.
