Smoked Tailights

Anyone who lives in cali, maybe you can help me with this. I want to smoke the tailights of my 328i, i dont want to black em out, i jsut want them to be a lil dark. Now i kno you can sand em down and use the auto paint. My question is someone told me i can still get pulled over even if there just a little dark. Also if i get in an accident i will get screwed because its an illegal modification.

Depends on the cop, etc. too many factors go into tinting your lights. My opinion, do it, not black, just a light smoke, and tint it with film so that in the event of a ticket or something, it can be removed.

I have a set for sell:

I took them out from my 2009 BMW E92 335i with 20,000 miles.
Its lightly tinted, not dark at all. The lights look the same with original ones during night time.

im looking for a used set of LCI tails for mine so i can have a stock set and a smoked set.
