Hey, does anyone have a JB4 USB Cable that I can borrow or buy? I need to load a firmware and don't want to wait for the mail.

Hi, Just moving to Fort Worth from Atlanta, need an indy shop recommendation, preferably on the north side. My E36 developed a wicked right rear bearing/cv joint noise on the trip. Guess that's what I get for using it as a moving van, lol. The E92 is still under CPO, so I was going to use Autobahn for that when I drive her out in a couple of weeks.
Thanks in Advance.

Hollar at the guys at ultimatebimmerservice.com. They do all my work, and are top notch!

I'm looking to do a backend flash, does anyone around town have a BT cable I can borrow, or purchase? I don't need a vin for the flash, just the cable.

I'd say 9/10.

- Only reason is for some small micro-scratches on the lips.
- Absolutely no curb rash.
- Rears have a copper-like "ring" around it due to when the wheel compresses underneath the quarter panels.
- Satin Black faces got powdercoated about 5 months ago. Still in immaculate condition.

Noob to forum and BMW

Just picked up 2011 335i manual trans, sport package. I work at Mockingbird/75 and live in Denton off the loop and University. Needless to say, I don't mind the drive anymore.

A couple of questions:
I want to mod. What order do you guys rec?
I'm thinking IC (since we live in Texas) first, followed by intake, DP, and pipes, followed by suspension, breaks, and then tune.
How much engine performance do you guys do before giving attention to suspension/breaks? Both feel really good so do most really ever touch these? The stock calipers are ugly! Doesn't the sport package include upgraded breaks and suspension? What's the difference from the M sport?? Why do my calipers look like they are missing the front cover? They're horrid looking!

Also, I have 45k miles. BMW Dallas told me that plugs wouldn't be needed until computer tells me. BMW plano told me to being it in as maintenance was covered until 50k miles. Why the hell did they put change plugs at 45k miles on the engine? Stealership guy did not specifically say plugs we're covered when pressed.

I've seen lots of chatter about injector cleaning. Is there a good fuel additive that will do the job or is physical blasting required? Much difference in performance? My car idles fine.

Lastly, how the hell do I attach a pic on here (I'm using my ipad which might be why I can't figure it out).

Rob

Ahh I know that feeling, when you can't wait to wake up because you get to drive your car to work. Your drive sounds awful though lol, do you take 35 to 635 or take 380 across to 75?

Intercooler, Downpipes and intake won't do you any good without a tune on this platform. They are necessary supporting mods once you tune the engine for more power.

Intercooler will help lower your IAT's in the summer, but if you aren't running more boost or timing via a tune, there isn't a need.

Tune or Suspension should be your first mod IMO, depending on your driving habits and preference. Some people want an aggressive stance or to be low so they prioritize it higher.

I would get a tune first, there are flash tunes and piggybacks, I won't pitch a particular one but do your research before you decide, or use a combination. Some have features that the others don't. Most have a 'stage 0' or 'stage 1' map that don't require any supporting mods.

Plugs are covered under the maintenance warranty and should be done at 45K, if your service adviser is telling you otherwise tell him to ask his manager. When running a tune the plugs need to be replaced every 15k.

Intake valve cleaning is recommended every 50k or so, there is a lot of carbon that builds up on there. Fuel injector additives won't help except to lube the injectors, the fuel doesn't touch the intake valves on these motors (Direct Injection).

No idea on the attaching pics, I usually just upload to imgur and link it.

Great info. Thanks.
I get up early to miss a lot of the traffic so go 380 to tollroad. Coming back I do tollroad, bush, 35, but stay on service road unless need to get on 35 to by pass a light. Its not too bad.
Speaking mods, I would really just like another 30-50 hp so was hoping to find a JB+ Type "plug n play" tune for the N55, but no go. In the end I want more launch and quicker up thru first 4 gears. I don't really enjoy doing 120+ so much as just being quick. More tone in the pipes would be nice too. Would lowering the car make for more rough ride. It's fairly rough and low as is.

I would go with JB4 ISO 5 and intakes first, can be bought together for under 500 and you will have great results, I actually have a set of BMS filters in case you decide to go with those. Difference between msport and sport is the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, interior pieces and I believe the suspension is different as well. I have not messed with suspension or brakes, as I think stock is pretty good for my standards. Rough ride could be run flats? Most will say switching to non run flats will result in smoother ride. Also for better sound, not so much performance I have te bmw performance exhaust, which sounds amazing if you ever want to hear. Welcome to the forum.

Honestly I wouldn't get an intercooler first, unless you are tracking your car, an ic isn't going to do that much, the stock one is ok. If you want to make more power get some down pipes first with jb4. Burger motorsports sells packages.

They are out of true, and apparently can't be repaired. I am thinking of dropping down to 18s for ride quality.
