Mate, I raced and kept up with an F430 once, when I was standard, I could hear he nailed it too... Sounded delicious, but not for one second if he drove it properly would I have kept up, I actually did him in the end.
Also on track Ive done CSL's. Again I rekon I would go quicker around a track In a CSL than I would a mapped 335d.

The T/C on a 335 seriously hampers its standing starts unless tyres are warmed right up and the track is bone dry. Even then its tough to launch one well. Ive seen loads of 335d at the pod, only a handful ever get launched well.

I think he took out the backseat to reduce weight then put his new girlfriend in the boot to aid traction. 330d was 14.2s@98mph at the Pod. Standard. But I got well into the 16s before I turned DSC off. |

Friggin 'ell - what a thread LOL.
Only skipped through it but very amusing to say the least. So, we all established whose got the biggest knob then? Don't understand peeps who don't 'floor' it now and then. Thought the idea was to buy a car with 'x' power and use it and enjoy it where you can! |

I know the ones on here who drive 'properly'
Jinjur - don't worry luv. There are some quick hot hatches out there imo and it takes A LOT of power to actually seriously 'blow them off' convincingly depending on road conditions, whether straight line, twisties and driver capablilites. But yes, you're right, unless you've owned or driven a super car it's hard to relate how much actual brute power is required to leave most cars with ease. |
