E90 ANdy-1st in the world to have BI-Halogen headlamps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats right, a friend of mine, E90 ANdy, has just completed what seems to me to be the Worlds 1st E90 BI Halogen Headlamps. He modified a xenon housing and did some work on it and now he has Bi Halogen headlamps. He gets no errors either and they are completely Plug and Play!!!....

Im sure he will be posting more info and pics soon....

this is great for all us halogen owners who want projectors and angel eyes but dont think that the xenon is necessary!

Good job Andy!!!

I'll have to second that question. I assume using the outer beam for both low and high? Or using both the outer and inner beam for low beam. Man that gets confusing lol.

hmmm interesting not sure what you mean by bi-halogen either, I remember asking mds awhile ago if he could mod my headlights so they could have halos, but he said it would be very hard to get a clean look or even getting them to work let alone...

probably run it on High beam all the time, but set the cut off so that it won't blind other drivers. but why would anyone want Bi-halogen? considering the hassle. just get Xenon.

you guys got it all wrong, the headlights are OEM projector headlights. Rather than having a D1s bulb in the lowbeam i figured a way to modify a H7 bulb in there. The bi-halogen just means that u can still use the "bi-xenon shutter" when you turn on the hi-beams. its pretty cool. Not as bright as xenons of course, but definitely a break through for us guys who want the functionality and looks of projectors and halo rings.

Aren't you losing light output by using the H7 rather than the D1S?

Ya, but he said he has an OEM projector headlight. He could either use a D1S bulb, a custom harness, and purchase ballasts to make his system true HID or use a rebased bulb (IIRC). Either way, the light output would far surpass halogens.

I'm just wondering why he did it that way (with a H7 bulb), that's all.

I have a 325i w/o Xenons, alot of the 328i dont either. I have D1s Bulbs and ballast but got annoyed with the error codes. Until this could be refined i opted to use the projectors with h7 halogen bulbs rather than have error codes with xenon, hope this makes sense. Halogen headlights are straight ugly

bro, just live with the error codes (like me) lol
having the d1s over the h7 is huge

lol yea i believe he will be posting pics really soon....what happened was...

many of us dont have the xenon option on our 325 or 328s.

Many of us want projectors and angel eyes, but could settle wihtout the xenon light itself...

therefore weve now got, halogen lighting in OEM xenon projectors...

so.....

angel eyes work, no error codes, but instead of a xenon light, its the old halogen bulb....when its off, the light looks exactly like xenon. but when its on, it looks yellow because its not a xenon bulb at all....

which means... lol i gotta stop typing this way...

many 325 and 328 owners who want angel eyes, can now get OEM projector halogen lights with funtional angel eyes... the bi halogen part is the same as the bi xenon part, a flap opens for more halogen light to hit the ground.....
