Variable cam profile? WTF? Considering the regrinds are of new stock cams I'm guessing Valvetronic will work just fine. Very likely Riot Racing knows what they're doing. Otherwise please do regale us with your expert knowledge of the sophisticated control loops you believe will be completely screwed.

Whoa whoa...guys, calm down. It's not like any of us are Canadians, no need to be snippy. Yes the cams are variable and I do see the need to retune the ECU, I'm not sure that the cars valve lift tables will be able to accurately measure the lift with the new grinds.

Ah c'mon, it's fer funzies

Actually the lift isn't increased by the regrind very much at all. They're variable via Vanos and no retune is required.

You know this how?

Oh wait. You don't. Yes, you absolutely can change the cam profile - lift, overlap, duration, and ramp rates are all parameters that can be adjusted. Valvetronic will work just fine.

You tell it what the lift numbers are. The model does the rest.

if you changed the profile, you do need to tell the DME. but it's just a few parameters. Hopefully your cam grinder can give you the profiles so your tuner can make adjustments.

Ok. Ok.

... but you have to admit that, out of context, it's kinda' hard to feel the love.

BTW if your car looked like this for four months out of the year, you might tend to "snippy" on occasion.

This should be a sticky. Not sure where exactly but it oughta be a sticky. Speaking as someone whose great-grandparents were Canadian but apparently thought better of it. Or something, n'est-ce pas?

Are you sure we are still in Florida? It was 33 degrees this morning. It felt like I was in Rhode Island but without the snow.

I'm on the coast, it was around 43 or so this morning, which is still ridiculous.

No time for install yet though. Too many track weekends coming up and work to do this week after an off on Saturday. That and the damn lugnuts are seized to the studs. So much for the RE PRO parts...

No details. Double checked and Todd says std install and cal should work fine with the DME will adapt. There's a procedure he sent to use for verifying cam clearances but that's it. We'll find out I guess.
