Shadow Line Trim
Was thinking about ordering the shadow line trim from Tischer but don't have an installer.
Anyone have experience with installing this kit on an E92? Pics of your work would be appreciated. |

I am considering doing the same for my E92, and ordering the trim, but doing the install myself. I would do the labor for less than what the dealership will ask (and they probably have no experience doing it) Last edited by bavarian19; 01-09-2011 at 04:17 PM.. |

How bout a shadow line trim MD VA DC install?
I did the upper section but have not tackled the lower, which looks like a PITA

I can do it all! I have done everything including taking the mirrors off and door panels on my E90 and on my E92. If you want to PM me, we can set something up.

I would guess that most dealerships (again, without the experience) will probably quote about 3-4 hours of labor. At the going rate of about $100 an hour, most dealerships will probably charge $300-$400 for the install. I would probably ask for about half of that for the work. It is a timely procedure, and I would ensure that it is done right. |

Gloss:http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462 Tischer probably has the best prices around. I PM'ed Evan about the possibility of a GB, but I don't know how much of a discount we would be able to get. |

Bavarian, I would be definitely interested in setting something up.
Sterling quoted me ~$270 for the install of the lower pieces on an E90. Where do you live in Va. I'm in Ashburn.... Also, from what I've seen Faulkner BMW in Pa. has better prices than Tischer.

bavarian19,
I will keep you in mind for this. Probably will be a few months if I pick up the trim. Will let you know. By the way the Alufelgens I got from you are still looking great! |

Glad the wheels are treating you well! As previously stated, I have basically done this whole DIY for the E92. I have done the E90 trim swap, and I have done all the steps minus removing the trim (taking off door panels and mirrors) in the E92. I would be more than happy to do the trim swap for you as well! |

Am I nuts or does it look like that price from tischer for the GLOSS for the E92 is $745 + a magic $330 extra. You have got to be god damn kidding me for window trim... Can't possibly be right

Thanks, good to know there's a parts place in PA that's reasonable.
RE: the trim...I think i might actually just have it gloss vinyl'd first to see if i like it. If i want it to be permanent, that's the easy part. My family owns a body shop and towing company

Anybody ever try getting a quote from a body shop? I'd think it would be cheaper to just get the standard trim painted than it would be to buy new ones from Tischer...... I may be wrong though?
