Winter wheels fitted :(
Yes, it's deliberately a sadface.
Fitted yesterday morning and one journey that afternoon was enough to remind me why I hated them last time. The TC light was flashing at every junction and roundabout across town, and the noise on the motorway was awful. That was in dry, 7.5 degree weather. I really hope we get this long cold winter they're threatening. Roll on spring!

I put mine on this afternoon and although I didn't give them any stick, ride and noise is a good match to the Goodyear F1 A2, if anything they're a slightly smoother ride. I was very happy with them last year, but that was compared to RFTs, so I was expecting to be slightly disappointed by them this year but no definitely not.

Mine will probably go on tomorrow. I have a set of 17" style 188's with new Falken Eurowinters.

Not got mine on yet, next weekend I think!
I'm on 16" steelies and conti winter contact! This thread needs to be turned into a thread with pictures of our cars on winters! |

Apart from the fact my car is on CSL reps instead of MV3 it doesn't look any different with winter tyres, they're still 18" just silver instead of anthracite. I didn't want 17" or steelies if it's gonna spend 4 or 5 months on them.

I look forward to putting on my winters. 4 months of not bothering to properly wash the wheels, extra comfort, peace of mind on the ice. Being a little 20d you barely ever get the TC kick in so win win from my perspective

I had my winters put on today, no traction control lighting up or anything like that so far. The only thing I noticed was the difference in ride quality from my 18" summer wheels to my 17" winter wheels, I didn't notice it that much last winter, but noticed the difference straight away today.
I'm going to get my MV3's refurbed, just unsure if I should change the finish colour or not, decisions decisions |

My only hope is that if they're so slippy, I may be able to wear them out by driving normally and replace them with something better for next winter. Just another case of getting what you pay for, I suppose.

My BMW set came with Bridgestone Blizzak's ... they are great, no noise and very good - though down to 4-5mm after 2 years use. I am trying to avoid putting them on as with a remap to play with I don't think they will last long !!

Fitted mine this morning, came with Goodyear ultra grips, having driven more than 200 yards yet with them so will have to report back over the next couple of weeks.

Not got mine on yet...still loving my p zero non run flats....but my winters are 16 inch steel rims with nice plastics covers and Michelin winter rft...they were fine last year and serve a purpose. I bought mine from bmw and thought they were good value plus preserve my summer tyres...and the safety thing, that's why I got them.

I paid 675...which I thought was very good, this was from stratstone derby and their ebay official site. They called me the next morning, double checked my chassis details and they arrived the next day, all brand new, ATS fitted them for £40 and stored my summers....simples.
