So I upgraded from v301 to 403 this week, same tune (sport LT), and it feels identical to the old one.

Is there going to be any meaningful difference? Gas mileage, performance, throttle response etc.?

The e30 map on cobb's website is for e85/91 octane. Can someone please confirm this, I thought the map was for e85 and 93.

Yes, the E30 OTS map will work just fine on 93. IIRC it was originally labeled as for "E85 and 93" but after testing Cobb changed the minimum recommended octane to 91.

to clarify, this is optimum for E85/93. Not for the shitty ACN 91 crap we have. You may to compensate for 91 by adding more Ethanol. I try E35 if your logs don't check out.

I didn't know they changed it to 91 per @allen@PTF but based on my testing I had to add a bit more to compensate for 91. So maybe you do start with the recommended and see how your log looks. Remember 91 isn't the same as ACN (Arizona Cali Nevada) 91. We Californians like to do things differently.

So I'm running latest (v401) Stage1 aggressive map on my 6MT (only mods: BMS DCI and BMW PE w/secondary cats removed).
Every time I go WOT or even close to WOT, the car seems to hiccup/stumble. It didn't do this before I upgraded to the new v401 maps.

I've never used the datalogging feature before and want to go do some logs to post up, but just wanted to know how I should datalog correctly..
Do i have to do it in a specific gear? from certain rpm to certain rpm? WOT? (the video from Cobb doesn't specifically mention that)

After doing a bit of looking around, i figured i'd go out and try to do some logging.

Here's what I came up with..
WOT 3rd gear to 4th gear.
http://www.datazap.me/u/nfaridi84/co...=0&data=1-8-20

but then something odd happened..
On the way back.. I was cruising in 4th gear, and gave it about 70-75% throttle and suddenly the CEL came on and the car started shuddering.
It would shudder every time I touched the gas (even very lightly).

I immediately switched to 6th gear to cruise home..
I logged a little bit of 6th gear cruising, everytime i feathered the gas pedal it would hake.
Here's a log of that:
http://www.datazap.me/u/nfaridi84/da...=0&data=1-8-20

About a minute later the CEL went away and the car started driving like normal.

Not sure what happened exactly, hopefully someone can shed some light for me.

That log looks fine. Timing looks great. There is some very minor overboost but you probably can't even feel it.

The fault codes you posted return these results:
2DEC power management, battery control
2AB4 DME, internal error: RAM-checksum

I can't find the 2FCA and 2FDA fault definitions.
I recommend to clear the codes and see if they return.

Thanks for the responses guys!

Okay i cleared the codes and will check again after driving around a bit.

the 2AB4 DME, internal error: RAM-checksum ...anything to be concerned about?

And as far as the shuddering goes. The spark plugs should take care of that?

I posted this log to the N55 section but I received no responses. Can anyone tell me if this log looks OK?

I'm comparing Cobb and Dinan and I had a few questions. I know they may have been answered in this post but forgive me for not read through all 385 pages

Does Cobb V3 adjust water pump timing on the N54 335i? I read a few older posts (2011) that said it doesn't.

Are there a different set of tunes for us in cali where 91 is the highest pump gas?

Long term mods for my car are exhaust and intake (done) and future FMIC thats probably it. I have to smog so I don't want to do anything that takes more then an hour to reverse.

With these mods what OTS tuning options can I safely run DD with 91 pump? If I can only use Driver than it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Lastly, I know Dinan and Cobb are different in many ways I'm not asking which one is a better tune.

With intake + FMIC you can run the Stage 1+ FMIC drive map. It provides a very good boost in power over stock.

Just out of curiosity, why did you change the octane value for e85 from 105 to 96?

With the fuel trims being as high as they were on my logs from blending 5 gallons of E85 with 11 gallons of 91, I'm inclined to believe the 105 rating vs 96. Either that or I really need to upgrade my LPFP.
