^This is true. At part throttle and when traction control is on, you'll see a lot more activity in the timing correction monitors. The DME uses corrections for torque limiting and you're also running much leaner during cruise. Your main concern should be WOT logs. This is the most stress the engine sees and if things are looking good there, you should be in good shape.

Regardless, did you have a previous tune? Did you ignore the message about detecting another tune and loss of data? We absolutely keep the vin intact while tuned. Of course its recommended to uninstall if you're going for an inspection or visiting the dealer. We do not set readiness codes, so inspection would likely be an issue anyway (unless they only read vin and DTCs I guess).

Feel free to contact me or our techs if you have any questions about our process.

Hey Josh,

I pulled my car apart after Shift Sector to get new turbo's installed. Was ready for a change so I sold all my Vishnu products and bought an AP. After I got the turbo's installed I had to flash my MSD80 to remove the back end flash so I wouldn't get under boost codes. I didn't write the UIF so I assumed the VIN was correct. Found out the other day it wasn't. I find it hard to believe that Vishnu put the wrong file back on my car, but it's possible. I had the flash done at FFTEC so I didn't remove my MSD. So if the COBB didn't do anything, I should be able to uninstall the COBB AP and my VIN will be incorrect.

I'll try that tomorrow and let you know. I'm only 3 miles or so from Surge and if needed I can run over and visit with Tim.

Thanks.

Definitely let me know, or feel free to tell Tim to contact me, he's a good guy. Like I said, you can contact me directly if I can help also.

Just to let you guys know, one of the reasons the initial install takes longer than just changing a map is because we read the entire stock file out of your DME and use that as the base for any maps that are flashed after that. The DME's are pretty picky and if not properly coded, there can be all sorts of weird quirks... the most common is non-working cruise control. When using an AP, you should never have these problems unless there was a previous tune on the vehicle that we can't read. At that point, the AP will warn you of detection of a previous tune. You then have the option to cancel, or continue with the possible loss of data. Only at that point would you get a "generic" rom and even then it would still be from the same family of roms as originally in your DME.

I know there's always some mystery as to how tuning companies do what they do, so hopefully that information helps.

- Josh

I don't see anything wrong with your AFR. I see it pull a bunch of timing early on because you're over the requested load, and then you knock significantly on the shift and it takes a while for that to clear out.

You should be good to run the stage 2+ aggressive map assuming you have access to 93 octane.

Log stg2+ first, but if everything checks out find some E85 asap. Drives so much better with E30 over 93 pump maps.

I have an Virtual Dyno graph that can help you. Others my vary.

Have some E85 blends also. 20% E85 pump to be exact to offset 93 octane. So your results will slightly vary. But delta's will be close.

It depends on which ROM you have. It's not available ATM for I8AOS but I'm not sure about the others.

Anyone using a Cobb N54 flash up in Denver on an otherwise stock car? I'm curious what map you're using and what experiences you've had?

Im about to go install my AP. Just out of curiosity, if the battery dies during installation, what happens(other than needing a jump)?

Secondly, how do I find my ecu code to download the correct map from the below link? Or do maps come preloaded on it? It didnt show any in the AP Manager.

I'm in Denver and stock with Stage 1 Linear Sport with the 6spd. I really love it and it's a huge boost over stock, also it gets better MPG. Super fun up in the mountains. At this altitude with the free spinning turbos and this tune this thing flies compared with NA cars.
