If you're asking me, that's a very loaded question, in which if my wife ever were to see the total bill, she'd probably file papers.

I'll say this, I did not buy everything at once...I initially told the wife it was going to cost $200 to upgrade from freshwater I knew a month in that I was already five times over my budget...that was 9 years and two tank upgrades ago. Today, in total, let's say I could easily have purchased a German automobile of some sort. I was keeping a spreadsheet at one point, until I realized it was just incriminating me...I lost count when I was around 15K.

That does not include the extra $250 a month I have in electricity running 1190 Watts of lighting, 10 pumps, 2 controllers, heaters / chillers, and the room AC.

Nor does it include the flood damage I had this past October when my 6 stage RODI unit sprung a line, flowing ~10 to 20 thousand gallons of water in an 8 hour time frame which completely destroyed my kitchen and game room both were newly renovated. I can share those pictures, but that's taking us away from the point of this thread...and just makes me want to

Now my stomach is turning thinking about the flood (or maybe the Chinese food I just ate)...so back on a good subject...

My Powder Blue and Naso Tangs.

I'd love to show off my Juvenile Korean Angel before he turns into an adult (getting close). I'll see if he'll show himself for a picture or two.

waiting for the angel pics

yeah, like most obsessions, it's not cheap. Just as soon as you think you're almost done, the tank doesn't fit something and you have to bump up the size.

Then as soon as you do that, you need to bump up the filter, or add bigger skimmer or an overflow filtering system.

then you obviously need a bigger light/lights.

The list goes on and on. I truely miss it. But i was doing my tank when i could barely afford rent at the time. so it had to go.

I am however looking into getting a house in the near future, and one room will be dedicated to a fish tank. If and when i can ever decide on a house.

A bunch of 18 year olds i was working with last year started complaining that they were starting to feel old. I chimmed in saying "you realize i'm a decade older then you guys right?" Their jaws dropped and were like, "oh crap, you're almost 3 decades old"

I said "yup, I have memories from before you guys were born." After this conversation i started to feel very depressed and old... And they all stopped flirting with me after that

I actually REALLY liked it. It gives great depth in a small footprint. My only issue was that the sump didn't fit under the tank so it kind of hung out the back of the stand. Couldn't be seen but I do wish I could have pushed it flush to the walls.

I love saltwater fish tanks. I have had a 55g, two 29g and a 12g but since I move around a lot I haven't been able to keep it as a steady hobby. Now that I'm settled into my new place I'll have to start another tank again. I'll make sure to post some pics in here when I do.

I can see that as being a huge issue. What size sump were you running underneath that it wouldn't fit?

Wow, a lot of tanks...any pictures of what you had in the past? What types of items did you keep?

Nothing crazy, just stuff that's easy to care for. Here are some photos from two of the tanks I had:

also here's a thread I made a long time ago with photos of the progression.

Wow, you had some nice rics and colorful zoas there.

I take it the two pictures of the clowns lived in separate tanks? Looks like you had a nice setup. I'll take a look at your site tonight as well.

This was my build site from when I went from the 90 gallon to the 220. The reading part probably stinks, but the pictures are cool to look at. I haven't updated it in a while though.
