Putting an e92 on a lift

I put my catless downpipes on myself last week at my friends house last week. He has a lift which came in VERY handy.

What we discovered (probably already been mentioned somewhere on this forum) is that the standard lifters on his lift won't fit my cars OEM jack points. As another issue, the car is too low for this arms to fit under the jack points so we jacked up the rear of the car enough for the front arms to fit under the front jackpoints and then removed the rear wheels. We then put the rear lift arms under the spring mounting cups. Figured that if the springs which take a beating from the cars weight were supported by this point then it would suffice for a lift point.

After lifting the entire car about 2 inches off the ground we stopped and tried to rock the car back and forth to see if it was stable, no movement at all. Lifted all the way up and commenced a very annoying and confined install.

I have more photos that I'll add later, but i'm not on my computer right now.

Wow nice garage. How are you getting past Howard County emissions with catless DP?

Jesus, a lift in a residential garage! Awesome!

I don't know if it helps, but I know (I just purchased) there are aluminum jack block adapters being sold in the for sale section... I don't know if those will work on a lift though....

Yea you have to lift it to get them under, but why couldn't you use the stock locations, I've had no problem using them.

Bump, thanks for this info! I just installed a lift last night and couldn't get my 335 to line up either. Considering things were new I put my TDi on the lift instead as the guinea pig. I'll give this a shot tonight.
