Ian, did you not consider the panaromic sunroof?? I know it's a lot of money but I think it's an amazing peice of kit. The X3 has it (and a few touring owners on here also swear by it) and I think it's brilliant - so glad I held out for one with the s'roof to appear.
Have it blind open (for extra light) or closed (if too sunny). Fully open. Dual tilt. Dual tilt with blind shut (blind opens slightly in the middle - I only found this option the other day). Honestly, you wouldn't regret it. Personally, I'd downgrade the audio to Logic7 (or whatever it's called now) and get the s'roof. Gorgeous car as it stands though.

Thanks Roger, I'm not sure I can justify over £1100 just for a sunroof but I get your point. I promised myself the Individual Audio this time around so won't drop that, I'll have a think over the bank holiday weekend and see if I can find a car to have a butchers at!
Thanks again |

The roof is worth it - plus I (and I suspect a fair few others) spent ages waiting for a loaded car with the roof to come along - they are very rare as it is so expensive.
I snapped up the one I found before it went - so whilst you may not get all your money back it'll make it a doddle to sell. Mine has the leccy flip down towbar too - very neat bit of design. PS - is it me or are nearly new 330d/335d Tourings very very rare at the moment (irrespective of spec). 58 plate on 245ps 330d tourers are almost extinct! When I was looking in 2008 there was much more choice (albeit still hardly any with the roof!) |

Mmm ok, ok, I'll check it out, I hear what you're saying......
You're right about the lack of tourings, there are virtually none and there never seem to be any 335i Manuals at all! Very rare me thinks! |

I have basically the same spec as you, the sunroof makes the Interior very special, could not imagine driving around without it, well worth the extra money especially with your discount

I'm struggling to find a loaded 335d coupe or at least with the things I want. Looking for over a month now and well specced ones go within the hour almost.

Any well specc'd 335d coupe, touring or saloon will sell easily - You'll never get your money back on options, but it will make it sell a lot easier. The options on my 335 total over £6000.
I'm personally not sure if a 335i manual is a good thing for re-sale as most people will expect an auto, especially on a touring, but there will be the petrol heads amongst us that want a manual touring. A real wolf in sheep's clothing!!! Enjoy

Oh dear, what have I done, a little head-ache for you now Ian over the weekend The roof, I think, is available on tourings, X3/5/6 - worth a call to the dealer to see if they know where one is to have a look at.
My 335i had over £10k of extras on - unbelievable. I bought it used (with 500 miles on the clock ), I can tell you he didn't get his money back, but I fully agree that certain extras make a sale so much easier.

No offence - Sun roof's - don't get em, had them years ago, but only by chance.
Why would you ever want 'more light' or the sun shining on your head?? Bit like one of the horrible UPVC conservatories, sitting in them on a sunny day, squinting with sweat running down your face - hmmmm lovely. |

I find it makes the cabin lighter (obviously) but more airy and spacious. Yes, the sun sometimes comes beaming down but with a flick of a button (on these modern ones) the blind closes and hey presto sweat avoided. Obviously open the bad boy up and get some fresh air (yes, a window has a similar effect).
I love open-top driving so it's a good half-way house (maybe not quite half).

Cheers all,
I have to say, I don't really care about resale, I buy what I want and stuff the rest of it, you only live once! I certainly wouldn't buy an auto unless I defo wanted one (and I don't) so it's a manual for me. All my tourings (five in the past) have been manual and everyone has sold within days, there's always someone who wants to shift for themselves! Planning on having a look around today for the Panoramic to see what I can find out. The Mrs has it on her Mini so I know roughly, just never seen one in the flesh on a 3.....time will tell! Thanks all, the forum at it's best. Ian P.S. Where can I get an E90Post sticker from??? |

There are 7 "330d/335d" tourings on the BMW site younger than 58 plate - only 2 330d 245ps models by the look of it - 4 are 335d. --- There are 11 "335i" coupes on the BMW site younger than 58 plate Only 1 "335i" tourings on the BMW site younger than 58 plate. These numbers are all quite low. I could be wrong, but I thought that main dealers usually have more late stock than anything else - there is a potential reversal due to the sheer lack of good late stock, probably a combination of lower sales, and people hanging onto their cars. |

Good man, with you on that. I've always gone for what I want and not what I thought would sell well, in fairness my spec is always quite big, but never had any problems come resale time.
