JBD or else

I am torn. I really need to stop reading any forums just the way I did for a year

So I don't really know why but I need more power since my car has only 2600 miles and obviously still under warranty I am leading toward JBD. Which is easy to remove when go to the dealer.

So tell me why I should NOT buy it!

Would be easier if the engine cover bolts weren't such a pain to get off. The one closest to the driver should be left out permanently.

I will also say that the DTUK modules are awesome. We have a company fleet of 335i and 535i and I they cannot hold a candle to my 335d.

Get a bt cable and play it safe. With that there arent any warranty concerns.

Agreed. But if you leave it out it might rattle. The engine cover does a good Job at minimizing engine noise.

Also, you can take off the air filter and cowl for much easier access.

I was literally a mouse click away from a JBD. But then I got an e30 instead. Apples and oranges, I know (in terms of price too).

It seems the DTUK-T is a better option as it is a two channel system controlling fuel throughput as well as turbo boost. DTUK is manufactured by DTE in germany which has years of diesel tuning experience for multiple auto manufacturers. JBD only controls fuel, does not control turbo boost, and JBD makes only one module for this one engine.

I could be wrong, please enlighten me. I have been considering buying both myself.

It has been pointed out that you are incorrect, but you insist on posting the same incorrect information. Let me explain; The JBD plugs into the rail pressure sensor (do you know what that is?) and it tricks the ecu into adding more fuel. Boost is NOT touched. AFAIK with diesels, you only need to add more boost if you're not able to burn all the fuel you're adding. You don't have to worry about A/F mixture.

The only thing I would worry about is more fuel = more soot = more load on the DPF. That's the only thing keeping me on the fence, since I want to drive this car for years. DPF's are expensive to replace out of warranty.

Actually, it doesn't. To adjust boost on the diesel motor you would need to connect to the MAP sensor, MAF sensor, and wastegate solenoid. DTUK only connects to the MAP sensor. BMS experimented with the four sensor arrangement (like their gasoline tunes) during JBD development\ but power gains were not there over the single sensor setup they ultimately released. And the single sensor setup allowed for an easier install and lower product price.

Mike, I saw a post were you said the jbD does infact raise boost pressure. Ill look for that when I get on my computer.
Maybe the car raises boost the keep air to fuel ratios incheck but that is still due to the jbd affecting fuel.
