Cyclists suffering frozen brains?

Tonight coming home from work I almost ran into the rear of one of those recumbant tricycles?( The things where some complete knob almost lies flat and the pedals are above head height). No lights and in the middle of the lane in snow and ice on an "A" road in semi darkness. As I passed the fella was sat there pedalling like fook with a stupid smug "Im saving the Earth" grin on his face. I nearly stopped and went back for another go!!!

Then about ten minutes later a woman on an ordinary tricycle crossed the busy road, again with no lights!

I wonder if it would be possible to buy a license and have a culling season for these morons.

They say thinner tyres work better in the snow etc. but not those type!!

Must be great almost lying down getting high on exhaust fumes and causing an obstruction.

Made me LOL the way you've written it.

I nearly hit a kid on our street who did not have lights, amazes me that they just don't realise how invisible they are.

You nearly hit him just because he didn't have lights? Bit harsh isn't it, couldn't you have just talked to him?

Nowt so funny as folk! I remember at the father in law's funeral we were following the hearse along the A167 in Durham. It was going so slow you could have walked faster. Then the hearse pulled out and overtook a coffin dodger on a scooter! (He must have got a shock when he saw a hearse following him!
Im pretty sure the wife's Dad would have thought that funny.

Can't you just plough through them at the speed limit (or slightly less so it looks better in court ) and claim the lack of light's/reflective clothing caused the accident?

I agree with every comment here about the morons who ride a bike with no lights. But what about the fucking motorists who cut me up when I ride my bike with bright clothing flashing LED lights plus normal steady rear light which is required by law. The bastards seem to play a game of how close can I get without hitting him rather than slow down and pass safely,

Far too many students and other cyclists here without the fixed rear light or even reflectors! And they go through the traffic lights! I almost hit a few this weekend especially at dusk and dawn times!

Traffic lights dont seem to apply to most of those airheads. Also pity any pedestrian who gets in their way.
They are road users and should be licensed with a proficiency test as a minimum requirement to go on the roads.
Also they should pay a smug tax!!
York City has paid a fortune for cycle lanes. They should have electric fences running alongside them to keep our save the earth friends off the roads.
