Spring Cleaning

Spent a bit of time giving the car a bit of a clean today as the weather was a bit more co-operative....

Washed - Clayed - Washed - Polished - Waxed (x2) - Wheel Sealant and Tyre Black.

Couldn't resist a few pics.

Great job Matt, there are some lovely reflections going on there, which shows just how clean it is.

How many miles you got on her now?

Cheers

It's taken all day with a few breaks for food and because it's been sooo hot! I've been waiting for a decent day to do the works for weeks now

Up to 7400 miles now. Plenty of stone chips that don't show in the photos But then that's life.

What products did you use on it?

Okay...

Washed using Z... Clear
Clayed using Sonus Glyde and CleanYourCar fine Poly Clay (Sonus Green wasn't doing anything).
Washed again with Z... Clear
Polished with Z... HD Cleanse
Waxed with Z... Councours
Wheels sealed with Jetseal109
Waxed again with Concours
Tyres and Mudflaps treated with CG New Look Trim Gel

The glass was in good shape having been done with Carlack68 last week. Damn good studd as Viv will attest to.

The wheels are a sod to keep on top of. But I think that's the key, frequent washing and a sealant will reduce the effort, but leave them a month (like my Sister does) and you need to clay them. They don't look quite as spotless up close.

I'm also coming to the end of the current tub of Concours, so may well be looking at alternatives. I can see long nights on detailworlds ahead.

carlack68 beading the water straight off on the way home from UK5 (who needs windscreen wipers just put your foot down )

Indeed, Matt.

The Carlack68 really is good at repelling water. The wipers need to be used far less when it pours down & the windows stay clearer for longer.

Great stuff!

Got my gear from cleanyourcar.co.uk perhaps someone could approach them?

You do get loyalty points by shopping there though.

Matt, (anyone else)

You might want to try Autoglym Aqua Wax between extended detailing (washing) sessions.
I had mine detailed a few weeks back and the Guy recommended Aquawax to maintain the finish.

It's dead easy to use, wash car, partially dry and then 'spray it all over', and then just buff it up, it works a treat.
I'd be tempted to do it a panel at a time in this heat, with a tinnie (or in my case a JD) between panels

You can get it here, along with other places, it comes with 2 T towels (MF cloths):

Matt, Your car looks fab - you have put in a lot of work there. Silver cars have that always clean look but to get them to really shine requires a great deal of work.

Ron @ Motorgeek is a really top bloke and always quick turnaround on deliveries.
