żE92 Seats in E90?

Was wondering if e92 sport seats will fit an e90 non-sport. Ive searched and have gotten mixed answers. If its possible, what (if any) modification is necessary. Both are power, heated, and power lumber. Not sure if sport seats are power bolster or not

Any input is appreciated.

alright was trying to help out but i think there are a lot of things you need to check...

so realoem.com E90 Seats -- http://realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?mo...56&hg=52&fg=10

and realoem.com E92 Seats -- http://realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?mo...14&hg=52&fg=10

CHECK PART #'s and see!

Obviously they're not going to be the same since E92 seats fold and E90 dont

From what I've read they're compatible. You just need to splice the bolsters in yourself so they can work properly, someone outlined a way to do it but I can't seem to find it. Good luck.

****correction. I'm not sure if the seats from the e92 are heated or not. Is there some sort of different module, connector, or part number for seats that are heated that I'd be able to visually identify?

Btw I'm out of the country. My car has heated non sport seats and it's an e90. The seats in question are out of an e92, in someone else's possession and he is unsure whether they are heated or not

Please elaborate if you are confident.

I may choose to do this in the future as the seats become available for cheaper used.

My bad, I didn't realize you were OP and thought you were someone bluntly answering the original question.

Good luck and update the thread if/once you swap!

Because I stumbled across some e92 seats at a decent price. Can anyone confirm they will fit and all the functions will work?

And does anyone know how to identify heated seats from nonheated seats??

Don't have experience with E90/92 seats but I was able to use the E46 M3 Coupe seats in my E46 sedan.

Physically they fit and the harness was the same even though i had heated seats while the new M3 seats didn't. The only thing i had to do to make it work was relocate how the stock seat belts connected to the car. On the sedan the lower seat belt mount was attached to the B pillar while on the coupe it was attached to the actual seat rail.

Might be worth it to take a look at how the belts mounts between both cars.

So ive been doing some more research and it seems as though the only thing holding this back from working is the seat belt mounting points. The e92 seats dont have the hole on the side like the e90s do...according to what ive read

i think mine was the same issue. it was either swap the seat rail system over or what i did was dremel out the hole bracket on one seat, then install it on the other seat with a bolt/nut.

If necessary and possible I'll drill the mounting plate. I read an old thread an the guy said there wasn't enough contact to mount it though.

I also read somewhere else that a guy did it and it worked fine...guess I'll have to wait until the seats r in my possession and assess from there

Front seats fits perfectly, you just need to make sure that if you had not powered ones, you'll need to wire +, -, and K-CAN to your seats, that's only needed when you're retrofitting the powered ones ofc.
There is one catch with the front seats tho, there is no place where you can bolt your seatbelt, that's for you to figure out, i made holes in the same place where they used to be on my E90 ones.
However the back seats fits partially. You can see the image below which parts don't fit. (Door panels won't fit for sure).

gtabfknkdnme - I tried bring E92 (sport) into E90 and gave up quickly.

It is much easier to get a hold of decent E90 sport seats.
I got excellent set from junk yard in Rancho Cordova for $300 (for both)
Swap was plug-and-play, 15-20 min per seat.
Highly recommend this path.
