Does anyone have an ETA yet?

My car was on the AIDA which docked yesterday. I can estimate when I'll get my car by learning when you get yours and adding a day.

Thanks.

I should know later today (if my CA has access to that info). I'll post what I hear.

Thanks BB. Your car has to go all the way up to Seattle, which will probably take an extra day, right?

Just talked with my CA and my car is scheduled to be loaded onto a truck Saturday morning. He won't know an exact date until it is actually loaded, but it should arrive at the dealership no later than Tuesday. Hoping for a Wednesday pick-up after they install my aero lip and put the clear-bra on.

Many thanks BB.

My ship (AIDA) arrived a day later than yours, but I'm closer to Oxnard, so my car will probably be ready Tuesday or Wednesday. This is good to know so I can TRY TO manage my excitement/impatience.

Too bad we didn't live closer together, so all of us impatient guys and gals could get together and share our excitement and impatience.

My husband's and my kid's eyes gloss over whenever I talk about my car. It's like, "Oh no, here we go again." There couldn't be a more boring topic to them, and tracking a car? Forget about it! Thankfully there are people on these forums who understand.

By the way, I have a fun story about my visit to the dealership. While I was waiting for my current car to be appraised, I couldn't help but notice a white 6-speed M6 on the lot. My CA said "want to drive it?", and you can guess what I said. I was able to drive it for ~35 minutes with a mix of street/highway spirited driving. I hit the M button as soon as the engine warmed up and the car was unleashed. The engine is very strong throughout the RPM range, but is really fun from 5k-8k. It wasn't scary fast, but it was perfect in my opinion. I was impressed at how refined the car felt at all speeds (sound, ride, feedback, etc). I will definitely look towards the M5 as my next car purchase....I am thinking 4-doors would be more practical. I just love all aspects of these cars....although I am sad I didn't get to try out the SMG gearbox. When I pick up my car, he said I should take out the 2005 dinan M3 they have on the lot. I wanted to drive it today but we ran out of time. It will be interesting to compare the power/weight to the 335i once I get it. Updates to follow!

That was quick! My dealer called yesterday and said my car would be here in SD on Monday, but this AM he called and said, "Guess what?" Your car just arrived and in mint condition, picking it up tomorrow or Sat.

This forum was great, first time using it but not the last.

Thanks for all the info and updates

Great, congrats! Take some pics when you pick it up! I am thinking mine might arrive on Saturday actually. Owners Circle says my car is at the VPC and some people on the boards claim that if the owner's circle has that as the status, your car should be on the road already....time will tell!

Hey, BB, that is incredible news! I didn't think it was humanly possible for them to move her that fast to Seattle. That is great news for everyone, as that means they have it in them to move very quickly.

My CA said that since the car is priority one they tend to move them pretty quick. I'm planning on a Monday PM pickup after they do the aero lip install/clear-bra, but I might be tempted to swing by this weekend to take some "before" pics. I'll post them if I do!

I was on the AIDA, but I'm posting on this thread in case the same thing happens to one of you.

The Aida docked Wed and left Thu. So I called the 800 number this morning to see if I could learn something about the status of my car. The voice said:

"Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel"!

I couldn't believe my ears! That's what the voice said when my car was in Bremerhaven!

So I talked to someone on the 800 number. He said that it was the 2nd call like that he took this morning. It's probably due to an error in the tracking system, but it's very disconcerting.

For what it's worth, my car was on AE and I just called and got the same status. Your vehicle is at the port awaitng a shipping vessel. Maybe they are planning on sending it on a boat from CA to AZ.

I don't know why it happens, but this is a common error in their computer system, and sometimes it lasts a long time before they correct the computer. You car isn't waiting a shipping vessel. You could try calling the trucking company later today to see if they have any news. They are pretty helpful. Also, I can't remember if it was a euro delivery, but you can check their computer, too.

I like your sense of humor. We need more of that, especially amongst us BMW fanatics.

You're welcome. Unfortunately for me, I don't get anything done during the day. I am glued to these ship-tracking threads! It is like a treasure hunt. My car went into production last week, so there is hope for me down the road to finally break this addiction. Good luck and I will watch the Aida thread for progress.

Addiction is the right word for me too.

It's like watching a VERY SLOW drama unfold when there's a lot at stake - our new cars. It is putting me "through the mill".

If something happens to my car and I need to order another one, I'll seriously consider a different color to avoid this protracted pain. I'm going to start thinking in terms of "color option A" and "color option B" instead of "I must have color option A". Contrast the delayed gratification involved with ordering your car to seeing the car you want on a dealer's lot, taking it for a test drive, striking a deal and driving home a couple hours later. HUGE difference. But we would have missed sharing our anticipation with all these great posters.
